Well, the new excuse is now upon us.
Oil prices are back on the rise so the oil field workers can quit crawfishing and go back to work soon.
Now with all the rain, the new excuse will be the excess rain. just in time for peak crawfish season.

High prices survived another year

The excuse is the idiots in texas, who don't know how to cook them anyway, are going to buy them at top dollar.

Sucks for us

I had some folks I trust tell me the real reason they have been so high is because so many are now shipped out of state and the out of state customers are just flat out willing to pay more. So those motherfrickers are setting the market price for everyone.

It’s this whole “Louisiana fascination” that has swept the country. Look at all the TV shows and shite. Leave our fricking crawfish alone!

It ain't just Texas.

They are all over Nashville too. "REAL LOUISIANA CRAWFISH! $10 A POUND!" and they are tiny and taste like pond water.

They may have a legit claim with the rain. It'll be overblown, but probably still fairly legit.

I pay $8.99 for dem Chinese tails, or $33 for dem Louisiana tails in Colorado. Don't look at me, I'm supporting the Chinese market.
