Sorry to hear that. Spend time with our uncle and do the things that puts a smile on his face. My grandfather had Parkinson's and I know how that can go. Fortunately, they've made a lot of strides in the field since then.

Twisted way of looking at it: at least you are close enough to these family members to feel this pain.. it blows my mind how many people don't talk to their family, for whatever reason

Nothing but respect, I was saying that's tough to deal with.. with the meds available these days she will have little if no affects while on the meds.

These people are old. Old people get sick and die. That is what happens.

The second comment was obvious sarcasm. His example of a women in her early 30s with Parkinson's is quite sad.

I am of a different school. I don't use personal tragedy as a tool to draw attention or sympathy to myself. If his family is so great, he should have plenty of outlets aside from this hellhole.

Take the dick out your arse and quit being a bitch.

Just bc someone's fricking your wife doesn't mean you have to be mad at the OT.

Sorry to hear about your folks. I bet your uncle had a lot of fun in 87 years and had some great stories.

Your mom should progress slowly with some of the advances in medicine now. There are also a bunch of people working on treatments and cures as we speak.

You should read up on it as well. There are many treatment options and educating yourself helps you to understand why her Doctors are choosing the treatment that they do. The good news is that there are some amazing experimental treatments happening too.

Good luck.

Not to dimmimish whatever struggle your mom may go through, but......

Better that than Alzheimer's or just plain old senile dementia.

That stuff will tear you apart while you remain nearby to care for them.

Sorry for your situation and all that but no shite...go sit with your uncle and just talk to him. Have him tell stories. If lucid.

If not tell stories to him. If he can talk record it. Commit those stories to memory. I wish I would have.

My mom has Parkinson's. It's a constant worry and we all have to help take care of her. I really don't know what's going to happen in the years ahead.

Just try to be patient, and realize that your mom's condition is not her fault.
