Yep. They especially like to shutdown right before major sporting events. Eatel needs to move into SBR STAT. Cocks is the whole reason I keep paying for cellar access for my iPad. They suck almost as much as Entergy, sure would be nice if we could ever bust up these two monopolies, but we certainly can't count on our PSC to help. They just keep awarding surcharges and fee increases so they can charge customers out the arse with no real alternative.

Cox must not understand the client/service provider relationship. If I told a client " yea sorry you paid for ____ but you're not getting it right now. sorry" I would be fired immediately. they don't gaf to be honest. they know you'll stay.

Internet just went out again in Metairie. So far, it has been every night this week around midnight. Lasts for a couple of hours and comes back on. The entire time it's out, Cox says it's working fine. I've tried two different working routers, and it still drops

Only options are Cox and dog shite arse slow, unreliable AT&T

During peak hours my internet is completely unusable. How can DSL be worse?

I've noticed the 12am to 1am+ downtime as well. It's far too regular to be an random occurrence or just your router. They should announce that they are working on the network during the lowest usage time period to provide a better service for its customers in the future bla blah blah.

I believe they do not announce this for two reasons: 1) regular customers that would not use is during that time period would request a partial refund after hearing the announcement, and 2) they likely have uptime service agreements with their business clients that they have a hard enough time meeting without announcing to the world that the service is down when no one is even in the office.

With that said, I'd take Cox over Comcast 100% of the time. One of the differences is that you were actually able to talk to someone about the problem at Cox (even if they weren't helpful.. it's even more infuriating to sit on hold.) Also, installation was super simple with Cox v. Comcast(Comcast charges for a installation kit even for self installs -- just a coax cable and a code in a box -- which you have to wait for to actually be physically delivered before you can use the service.)
