Have some compassion. People may have to unplug and do something like talk to their family and friends.

Cox and AT&T are both horrible service providers.

Times like these I love having a local and private plex server.

ETA: I can’t even log into my Cox account on my cell.

Don’t say that to some customers in South Lafourche and Grand Isle. We are still waiting on restoration of residential services since Hurricane Ida.

They had to remove the old lines string new fiber in my neighborhood that was just built last year. Since not one telephone pole made it through the storm.

They have yet to come back and cut the line for the residential drops.

Not only for you personally, but these cable operators need to understand that local cables systems need localized system equipment. That way if one link in the chain goes out then the entire system just goes out.

You would be surprised at how centrally switched networks are and are dependent on each other.

For example Charter in Houma Thibodaux. The only equipment they have is to receive a few local stations and then those signals are sent out to the main network operation center in another area before coming back to the customers.

If anyone of those legs get taken out like during Ida, then the system is completely out.

A few years ago Comcast in a wide area had an issue where a 3rd party fiber was cut by a construction crew in Shreveport, they went out for nearly 2-3 days in Houma.

And not one bit of that can be wished into immediate existence. All of that takes manpower and time.
