Fiber + YouTube tv

Dropping that Cox box off and telling them to cancel their shitty service at my address was such a good feeling. The girl working there just asked me “you got fiber?” And nothing else

I used to run speed tests out of curiosity and don’t recall even once getting the speed of internet I was paying for through Cox

Rev is the best ISP I have ever had, period. There customer/technical service is also the best I have ever had from any company of any sort. Native English speakers that will stay on the line and work you through issues even if they are on your end.

I will second this.
Rev (Eatel) might not be an option for the OP, but you others who have the option of Rev, I'd highly recommend.

I couldn’t agree more.

I have Rev at home and the office. At the office in Houma our fiber is buried to the central office/switching center. This year they moved our line to a closer node to avoid issues that we had after Ida. Phone lines and internet would go out at times, but come back online a few minutes later.

Now at my house in Cut Off, they should have taken page from Latelco (one of its predecessors) and bury the lines, but they ran them on the power poles. Not one pole survived the storm.

Power was out a month at my home. And Rev restored the fiber lines in October or November.

My neighborhood was one of the first to get fiber to the home just before Ida. When they rebuilt their network on Grand Isle they went Fiber to the Home and on Entergy poles. Now, Entergy did make some improvements on Grand Isle such as using sturdier poles and placing wooden poles closer together and anchoring them in metal casings that were originally destined for the Keystone Pipeline in some areas. They even buried lines between Fourchon and Elmers Island.

Rev is a conglomeration of 3 companies.

RTC - Reserve Telecommunications (River Parishes)
Eatel - East Ascension Telephone (Gonzales/East Bank of Ascension Parish)
Vision Communications - Latelco and Callais Cable (South Lafourche Grand Isle)

Eatel bought Vision/Latelco in the late 2000’s and then Eatel sold to RTC a few years ago. Now they are rebranded into one company instead of operating as 3 different companies.
