As I said, I know how hard people work. I've known many, many CIs. It just isn't enough.

And Mlster you really have a problem with the law abiding innocent people who live in those neighborhoods. That's fricked up.

One, that's not how it's speled.

Two, when did I say I had a problem with any people? I don't have a problem with any white people. I just don't think that it's fair to say that we are OK with murder as a society. We obviously aren't, we dedicate a lot of resources to preventing it.

good catch on the edit, but I caught it in time.

I think the only thing we're disagreeing about is how society reacts to violence. We're less violent than we were and getting better all the time. It's just weird to say that we're accepting of it.

Murder has dropped precipitously in the past 25 years. I would argue that we don't put up with this shite.

My coworker is a mixed race career woman who has "gotten out". She lives out in the suburbs. She's probably the smartest person in the office. But her father, a man of the cloth, lives in the ghetto. He has fallen ill but he will not leave his flock. Should she not take care of him. Should she forgo taking care of him, going to church with him, etc just because he wants to make a difference. It isn't simple.

I didn't realize that we did. I could have sworn that there were laws against murder and even teams of people dedicated to Shaking down and robbing those who had nothing to do with it.

FIFY

ETA: Hence all the Crimestoppers rewards on every local newscast regarding "police need your help to solve". Too busy shaking down the working class to actually solve anything themselves, might cut into their revenue streams.

Well, not to be picky but you did say "The people who live in these crime filled areas and the people that commit these crimes just need to be killed. "

The people committing these crimes give zero fricks about anyone or anything. Holding rallys, marches, and protests does nothing because those who need it will not attend or attend and look for opportunities to take advantage of a situation I.e. Looting shite.

The 7th ward of New Orleans was a great place for me as a kid. Then when I got to high school age in the 90s the drugs took hold, the older generation died off and their kids totally destroyed what they left behind. Just drove through there a few weeks ago just to check it out to see a vacant lot of my pre-Katrina childhood home and the neighborhood is worse than when I left it. I felt fear in a place I used to love. fricking sickening.

If I lived in a neighborhood that caused me to be scared to go outside, I'm pretty sure I'd fricking move out of that neighborhood

People in a neighborhoods afraid to leave their homes probably can't afford to get out the place they are in or can only afford to move to a place just as bad.

Yeah I'm not buying that bs. If I was afraid for my life I'd work 2 or 3 jobs to be able to afford a safer neighborhood. Living in poverty in America is a choice.

If I were any of the four, I'd be on the swim team and make sure my banana hammock was at least a size too small.

I might not could swim but I'd be swimming in snow bunny poontang.

Some people are born into shite. shite parents, shite education, shite neighborhoods. Vicious cycle that is hard to break. Witnessed it for the first 26 years of my life. Luckily I was born to parents who gave a shite and kept me and my brothers out of it. A lot aren't that lucky. 3 of my good friends didn't make it to 21 years old.

I do feel bad for kids that are raised in those environments but once you become an adult, if you want to get out of those neighborhoods it is absolutely possible

If things were so bad you can't leave your house, how can you work two/3 jobs?

In this specific case, the dude was scared of the bus stop, his only means of leaving the ghetto, finding a job.

I had a coworker whose family member was murdered as well and it does just suck. when it is a drug deal gone bad or something like that, it is pretty sad, but when it is an innocent person that just sucks.

unfortunately, the high crime areas are generally the same places that elderly folks live...I don't think people who have done their best all through their lives should have to be scared at night just because they can't live in the burbs.
