Organize the workers and get them to all say No - are they going to fire everyone? Who are they going to get to replace them. Stronger in numbers.

Simple solution is to never get tested and submit a fabricated negative test result. Worst case scenario they find out and chew you out. You've been chewed out before.

Reality is they simply don't care, as long as they have the box checked.

AND if no one monitors employees who self test, then why even swab yourself at all? Just turn in a negative (unswabbed) test result and go about your business.

Well, I can see a very small minority of people having none due to emergency circumstances. But the vast majority of people should still have some PTO at the beginning of September.

I could be wrong but I’m pretty sure the majority of employees are not full time, they do not get vacation & insurance benefits

As I mentioned testing is NOT monitored and is self conducted and logged in a book by the employee. It’s been that way since I was allowed back into the facility. I see it that same as you. Not everyone is observant as I am.

No most are full time JML but when you get limited days already and have to use 5 that leaves little for real Illnesses/sick kids etc.

If I worked for this company directly and had to be there more than one day a week, I’d have been out.

^^^^^. I’m not sure why more aren’t doing exactly this .. if A person is not sick why in the world would a person ever need to test?

Wow, really?

The ones around here only have management as full time
Most CNA’s & LPN’s work 32 hours at the facility & weekends at another to make ends meet

No not here .. idk why more aren’t looking for a better employer. They are good employees — I attest to that — and deserve better.

I do consulting in a long term care facility.

It's 2023 and some of y'all still have no clue that Biden's draconian CMS mandate was upheld by SCOTUS. All y'all seem to remember is that OSHA was nixed, completely ignoring that ALL long-term care facilities receiving Medicare reimbursement (which is the vast majority of them) are subjected to extremely burdensome Covid bullshite protocol.

I realize masks don’t really help but back when they were mandated I tried several because my face sweats easy. Look up sheema 97. It’s like the coaches was wearing at Covid peak. They are very breathable and worth it if you’re employer has a mask mandate

OP said that people were allowed to go negative in their PTO in the past so that would imply that the people he is talking about at least get PTO.

Thanks .. I have one that’s fine .. I only wear it when I’m down the hall in case admins see me. Lol when I’m in a room they resident typically can’t hear me and I’ll pull it down. Sitting alone at a computer there is no way in hell I’m keeping that on.

Do appreciate that info though.

True

I was just thinking of ones that don’t get benefits & how they would be without pay

Yeah I can imagine there might be some. And do t take my comments as in any way supporting management forcing workers to stay home with no pay. Just seems that OP has raised issues before with this company and they have a track record so it may be a wose move to keep a little PTO in the bank for just a scenario like this.

The best move is fond a company that doesn't piss their collective pants over a covid case in the office. But that may not be feasible.

Well, are you consulting them to turn in (unswabbed) negative test result OR are you just complaining on the OT about the facility policies?
