I have an aunt and uncle who didn't have kids. They're ~60 and regretting it now. It's awkward when my kids are around them and the subject is brought up.

there are other reasons besides "legally speaking."

why do people care anyways? a couple not having kids doesn't really affect me.

Dude, I'm not hating.
I personally just don't see the point if she doesn't want to start a family.

I challenge you to really think about what I am saying. Feel free to ask clarifying questions.

I would say the parents who had no business having children are a more negative impact on society than those that were able to recognize they didn't want to be parents and took the precautions to not become parents.

Every logical person will agree with this statement.

I have a younger brother 36 now and he talks about having kids but still has none. My gf is 37 and has never had kids but I kind of sense she regrets it. I told her up front when we got together if she wanted kids I ain't the one. I have 3 and I am done. I wasn't being mean just being honest and upfront.

I can't wrap my head around your thought process. As if having kids is the only possible reason to get married.

People get married because they want to be married. If they just wanted kids they could do that without marriage.

They fact that you could turn this into a gay marriage issue is baffling

Infidelity has always happened and will always be there. Birth control has nothing to do with it.

If people don't want kids then why does it make one bit of difference to you?

I said it earlier in this thread. But for most of human existence, there was never an option for a couple not to have kids.

two people fall in love, get married, and spend the rest of their lives together. they go on the trips they want to go on instead of just talking about them and saying "when the kids are out of college, we'll go." they go on fancy dates every weekend because they don't have to find a babysitter or go to the little one's dance recital. they buy that boat they always talked about and take it out every few weeks.

they enjoy life together, just the two of them, because that's what they wanted.

some people want that and some people want kids. to each his own.

So you should have kids, even if you don't want them, so that you don't have regrets when you are old?

Let's table that for now. I jumped too far down the line of my overall argument.
