All this shite is regulated. All of those fees are either break even or have a pre calculated rate of return.

It's expensive and it sucks, but people want to power their gaming PC, 9 tvs, washer, dryer, and keep their air on 67 all the time. That takes infrastructure.

That's not to say there isn't waste, because there absolutely is, but it's not like they're just adding fees that go straight to the bottom line

Entergy still has to pay for upkeep of the infrastructure that provides them that power

Or pass that expense to the consumer like they're doing now.

Correct.

As they should. Entergy absolutely sucks as an organization.

They charge outrageous fees and never seem to upgrade and invest in their own infrastructure, which ends up breaking down every time there's even a minor storm or incident.

My electric bill (not Entergy) shows zero fees or extra charges, just electric (kwh) based on usage.

I would try this and see what happens, but frick living in the summer without power. I wouldn't do it any other time of year either.

IF only the actual electricity used was the only cost in generating electricity and getting it to you.

They ran the wires and the poles. You, or whoever lives there after you, will pay for that for the rest of your lives.

Similar thing happened with me and Atmos. After a month in which the house was mostly empty bc we were traveling, our gas bill skyrocketed. Made no sense.

I would even argue higher as an avg considering Ida. Weren’t the power infrastructure damages worse than the last 4 major storms combined? If the customer doesn’t ultimately pay for the costs associated with maintaining a service, who should?

If your location is correct, KUB definitely has some of these "membership" fees.

Entergy is a scam and can suck a wet fart out of my arse. They are a private company. The government then tells them its okay to pass on all of their infrastructure costs onto the consumer along with service costs.

Remember updating the meters? It didn't help save any money than the old meter. It also was either pay a fee to get the new meter or pay a fee to not get the new meter. frick them.

they signed up to receive a service that will maintain, meter, and deliver them a flow of electrical charge to their home. Them not buying any watts along with the service they signed up to purchase is their prerogative

What do you think is a fair price for infrastructure for one house in a subdivision? That is $1380/year infrastructure per house for the life of the neighborhood provided the infrastructure prices don't go up.
