I work with a guy(operator) who makes $150k and gets food stamps because he’s not married to his baby mama.

Another case of people being rewarded by the government programs that reinforce bad behavior. Shocker.

This is why there should be no handouts except for disabled and elderly, although many are also scamming the disabled label.

frick that. Everyone talks about how important family is, having kids, etc. Kids are EXPENSIVE…especially child care. If you want families to have kids, then we need to do something about child care. Either federal subsidies, government-run nursery schools, or regulate fee structures.

All these folks in this thread talking shite but if given the opportunity to save $1.5k/mo they would ABSOLUTELY play the system themselves.

Just as they defend Trump for paying so little in income taxes….”he’s just playing by the rules”.

States are forcing women to carry these children to term. This is why the left gets so frustrated by the pro-life anti-welfare crowd. You can have it one way or the other, not both.

I have 2 kids in expensive private daycare. I absolutely made this choice and wouldn’t take the opportunity you’re describing because I’m not trashy like you.

The reason we are in the daycare we are in is because we’ve had to flee 2 other daycares that got flooded with recipients of taxpayer funded daycare. First you notice the kids, then you notice the trashy parents. Then you realize you’re paying and providing for their kids and yours. Then you’ll notice all the teachers worth a damn leave. Then the good families leave.

How about let's normalize women raising their own children, at least the first four or five years?

Yeah that's bad. Worse yet is when the poor girl gets abducted by aliens and worked over in the flying saucer bedroom.

Presumably, you’re married so it’s not an option. And I didn’t do this, just saying it makes complete sense people will do what they can to save a buck. They’re doing their best impression of rich guys and corporations.

For some reason, we get pissed at a couple pocketing $10k/yr via subsidies but don’t think twice about companies with multi-trillion dollar valuations not paying any corporate income tax. I mean, wtf?

I didn’t blame them, I’m just pointing out how dumb we all are to not care about a company playing the systems for billions a year and instead go after the working class schmoe for doing the same thing for a measly $10k or less.

Good... maybe they'll even sell condoms, the pill, IUDs and abstinence there too.

In the Florida Keys there is government subsidized housing based on different income levels. A couple can make up to $160k and get some sort of subsidy, but the most lucrative scenario is a single mom with 2 kids. Plenty of couples game the system by not being legally married. There’s rules about who can “live” there but it becomes a cat and mouse game about someone visiting rather than living. The housing authority knows they are being worked, but it’s difficult to stop.

Go ahead and justify your lack of morals by blaming a nameless corporation. If that’s how you want to live, have at it.

The biggest abuse I see of this is within the military. It seems to me that every Eastern European woman in South Florida is married to someone in the military for papers. He gets extra bennies from the military and her thank you money and she gets citizenship.

mmmbeer knows, but will never admit, that he’s okay that certain segments of the population shouldn’t be held accountable for their actions
