The council members pushing all this may survive but the Mayor has basically put herself in an extremely difficult position moving forward with her potential reelection.. she has declared war on any talk of unification and has deepened the divide.. she will face a mountain of money and quality candidates in just a few years and I can't wait for her melting under the scrutiny.. frick her and her divisive message
I wish I shared your optimism but I think we will elect another shite show.

Collins-Lewis said the item related to the police chief will ask the chief to attend the June 14th meeting to discuss the investigation into officers Blane Salamoni and Howie Lake. Late Wednesday, the mayor of Baton Rouge suggested the chief fire Salamoni for not following department procedures the night Sterling was killed.
You realize that in the public meeting when they refer to the officer(s) as a killer or murderer, that they could make the officers very wealthy.

Collins-Lewis said she is also frustrated with how citizens were handled at a meeting where activists planned to disrupt the council meeting but were escorted out.
Isn't it customary to remove people who are only there to cause distraction? They were preventing the council from getting business done.

You don't get it, do you? These were black people. Anything that offends them is racism.

The demographics and voting base are still white if that's the way they want to play this game.. I voted for kip 3 times as did many republicans because Bobby Simpson was an a-hole.. Kip understood that he needed to bring moderates and republicans into his corner.. what we had last election was anomaly with two horrible candidates albeit it one with a get out the vote component that led to a super slim margin...

I mean, what the hell can you do! Move or vote as a minority. It's time to fly south!

Chauna Banks keeps getting elected. That in itself kills any hope I have. BR is lucky that there is still a slight Republican majority of the metro council.

I seem to recall someone posting on here that Broome called Salamoni a murderer during a recent radio interview. How can she get away with shite like that? If that's grounds for a lawsuit, I hope to hell that both he and Lake file big ones.

Let's go interrupt the next meeting and talk about Nascar or bowling.

Talk about the EBRCOA scandals.
Don't waste time, point out a legit issue.

Yeah, let's introduce legislation to make sure people can interrupt council meetings and talk about whatever they want at any time. Sounds wonderful.
In bizarro world people can talk whenever and wherever they want.

BR can't catch a break. These fools are gonna keep this shite going as long as they can.
They will continue until everyone on this board who disagrees is willing to meet as a group and stand up publicly to change the narrative. As long as they have the media and all the dissenters are just posting anonymously on this board this will not stop.

I remember before she was elected Baton Rouge people would argue about how much better BR was than LP.....Not so much now

Well, if that's what they really want, then why not?
They'd just better understand the Pandora's Box they're opening here. You know, what's good for the goose and all that.
