Nah, no one is going to jail over any if this.

Haven't been keeping up with this but judging from the original story, this woman is at the minimum going to be fired, right?

Preferably out of a cannon. Into the sun.

TBD.
BUT...today the governor's office sent the COA a letter telling them to explain how they think TCA didn't do anything wrong (terd posted the letter). So, in essence, the entire board has to get together and defend the indefensible actions of Amar, Jackson, and another board member that was implicated in the letter. They must respond by Monday. It wouldn't surprise me if they tell all those involved to leave, but it also wouldn't surprise me if they staunchly defend them either.

How about the IRS investigate this fraud. How many others have been swindled? How much of that money was reported ? It's how they busted Al Capone.
Come on Feds , give this a good look !

This was my initial thought. Highly unlikely this was their first time doing it

I believe the governor's office stated that the COA must determine if TCA is currently involved in any other estates.
Edit:
The letter states the plan of action must include the following: 1. How the board will verify that Clark Amar and EBR COA employees have not been listed in any other last will and testament of any other EBR COA Client.

Come on UG, that's not what I said. You're smarter than this. All I said is no one is going to jail for a closed meeting but WILL when and because of the audit findings.

If you re-read your statement, it kinda sounds like that's what you're saying.

Governor's office just altered COA staff/board Easter plans. That was a VERY strong message. Rarely does government require information on such short notice.

Though the mayor-president attended Wednesday's meeting, she did not speak and she did not take a side in the arguments about the Council on Aging. In an interview Thursday, she said the nonprofit agency does not need more oversight from city-parish government through the cooperative endeavor agreement.

She says that now but I doubt she has seen the audit results.
I have a feeling they won't be pretty.

Yep. Governor's office tried to stay out of it too but they probably got info that required them to look tough. COA isn't worth going down for.

So... Y'all want the IRS to look at their personal income taxes?
IRS audit =/= Financial audit
Nor do they investigate public companies unless it is to do with taxes, that public firms with the SEC as the law
If it's an investigative audit, state auditor usually handles that, or OIG on the federal level. I've looked at the state auditor while I was in school before going into public, LA has a good group

I was commenting on the other people being swindled. I didn't know who should be doing the looking

This happens when someone gets a little too close to the shitstorm and they run the risk of getting some on them.

COA is a 501C3. The IRS would be within their rights to audit for compliance with 501C3 regulations. Yes it is different than an annual audit but it is not out if the question.
