I never said I'd sleep well. It would haunt me for sure, but I could still do it because it would save lives.
I physically couldn't make myself torture someone that I wasn't 100% is a terrorist/pedophile/murderer and has hurt/will hurt innocents.

It would have to be something that someone did to my family to kill someone, I'd assume.
Torture? At most just leaving someone for dead. I couldn't sit there and pluck teeth/fingernails or remove limbs or anything like that. Beat the shite out of someone? Sure. Shoot someone? If it called for it. But to torture someone I'd say it's tougher than people think.

ETA: The scenario in the OP reads like you aren't trying to get intel. You are causing pain in retribution for damages done. In that context I take everyone saying that they would torture in this thread as saying that they would torture for the pleasure of it and not feel bad, unless specifically said otherwise in the context of gathering intel. You lose the moral high ground by torturing them.
Bringing them to justice by lethal means would be a different story. The jihadists have most definitely declared No Quarter (whatever snivelling bitches like Richard Dawkins may say) and one would have no obligation to accept any surrender or even attempt to capture them.
