What the frick is wrong with you people? I could casually stroll barefoot over burning coals and not feel a thing with my hobbit mithril-coated feet.

Soggy/wet environments, I'm fricked.

Yeah, and when your troop leader made you get naked he was just preparing you for this show

My kids love this show. I found them in the backyard building shelters and trying to start fires. I asked what they were doing and they said "playing naked and afraid". The next day one asked the other "do you want to play naked and afraid?" I had to tell them yeahhhhh. We are going to call it that anymore. Too weird.

So who's more likely to survive; me or someone who has never spent more than 8 hours without AC?

You really arent the demographic that show is looking for to be on it. I've watched it a couple of times, and there seem to be far more people that fit the second condition than the first. Also, they purposely pick guys that are pussies.

Personally, getting over being naked would the hardest part. Not so much from a modesty standpoint, but just dealing with no clothes/shoes in the woods.

I'd like to think so, but I doubt it. I'd likely tap out like a bitch after a week.

shelter, fire and access to water; the rest is just managed suffering and preserving energy

Shelter you need a blade typically to cut stuff down.
Fire you need a striker or some mad skills which almost everyone on the show claims to have but never do well in the conditions.

Water seems to be the hardest for everyone. It's always filled with bacteria and they get sick for days. You need a way to boil it which I've only seen one team bring a pot to do so.

So the best items are a pot and a blade if you can start a fire like a caveman. If not I'd give up the pot for the fire starter and hope you can find clean water or collect rain.

I like to think that I could, but idk if I would ever sign up for something like that. I would have to be given a substantial amount of money if I completed it, to do something like that.

What would be your one item you would bring?

Machete, fire starting supplies, and a metal cup, used for purifying water and cooking are probably the most useful items.

I am bringing a machete for sure, and hoping that my partner brings a metal cup.

I think I could survive, as in not be dead at the end.

I may be in a coma though.

I would like to see the items they can select. I have only seen machete, knives, fire starters and pots on the show.

And he couldn't swim, so his partner was the one using them.

Could I if it was for my actual survival? Sure, I guess.

Would I ever attempt to do so optionally? frick no. Do they even get money for winning? What the frick is the point?

Barefoot would be brutal in the wilderness. I'm a house dog.

Also, the thought of mosquito bites on my dick makes me shiver.

If I'm outside for more than a few minutes without repellent I get a few bites, I think the bugs would be by far the worst part of the challenge.
