Gave up my membership during Covid (LSS: they were mask-Nazis, and I was asked to leave the store by a dick-noser). NEVER going back.

Scanning with the Sam's app while we walk through the store and then paying through the app and walking out without even having our cart inspected is 20 times better than the best experience I ever had at Costco.

Scan 'n go is the shiznit. I can be in and out in ten minutes. Costco, 40m to get a picture taken, and all the simps "shopping" with their wives, screw all that noise.
