How much have you paid in total for complete cleaning, all four quadrants?

Never heard of such a thing, and I've had teeth pretty much my whole life.

My insurance covers 90%. Regular cleaning is free every 3 months.

If someone hasn’t been to the dentist in like 5 years, then a deep cleaning may be needed. If someone has been going every 6 months, then the “deep cleaning” is something the density office simply wants to up charge you on. A regular cleaning should be fine.

My dad was a dentist and Ive never heard of "all four quadrants." Have you ever had a cleaning of less than all four?

I'm assuming you're talking about getting a scaling and root planing. That's way more involved than getting a normal cleaning. Since they have to actually clean underneath the gums very heavily it usually take a few visits to complete and requires local anesthetic. I've never had one myself, but I can ask my wife how much they charge for them at her office

Deep cleaning

Biggest scam out there a lot of times. Let me guess: Aspen Dental? Or one of these “state-of-the-art” latest and greatest places? Sometimes it is necessary to numb up a patient and schedule a lot more time (hence, the charge); but more times than not, a normal cleaning will suffice if you’ve been going in regularly and brush your teeth every day.

Find a new dentist or at least go get a second opinion if you feel you have halfway decent dental hygiene habits

Most hygienists hate doing a deep cleaning (my wife hates doing them). But when people dont clean their teeth and dont go to the dentist, a lot of times it's necessary.

Yeah, not sure what a "total deep cleaning" is. It's your mouth, not a car. I go every 6 months. I have insurance so i paid nothing out of pocket. $20 for the flouride treatment.

It's what happens when someone has really poor dental hygiene, and their teeth get so caked with plaque and other detritus, that it causes their breath to get so bad it can knock over a water buffalo at 500 yards- Upwind.

$200 every 6 months, but it is preventative- so 100% covered by insurance

Lots of solid science in this post. Maybe this baw can use his smarts to solve the Covid19 outbreak.

BTW, at which plant do you work?

Should be in the 150-200 per quad range for a quad scaling.
