So,Bill Cosby is off limits.A serial rapists.

No one would have taken the bet 10 years ago, that O.J. would be free and Bill Cosby would be in Prison in 2020.

The two black men most accepted by white society were OJ Simpson and Bill Cosby. We really know how to pick ‘em.

Like I said, Jack shite came of it. Then, years later, it spontaneously did - because a random comedian called him out.

But you said the criminal allegations came from a case that was decades old. It happened in 2004, so it wasn't decades old, and she did try to bring criminal charges against him then. It's not exactly easy to bring criminal charges against a Hollywood star. If you read that whole deposition from the civil trial, you will feel confident that he was drugging and raping women.

I bet you are a blast to hang out with? I have never heard, until today on this board.. someone say that eddie murphy sucks. Before someone tries to be a smart arse, I know technically he said "they both suck", but they includes Eddie Murphy.

And I get it, there isn't a single person out there who is for everyone. But you at least have to appreciate Eddie's ability to impersonate.

Like in Delirious. He does Bill Cosby, Michael Jackson, Jimmy Walker, Mr. T, Stevie Wonder, Elvis and that just adds a different dimension to what he brings.

And it came to nothing at the time. In fact, a confidentiality agreement was reached. A judge ruled the confidentiality agreement null when Cosby denied doing anything wrong after the really strangely spontaneous rant by Hannibal Burress.
quote:

On July 8, 2015, Constand and her attorney Dolores Troiani filed a motion to negate the confidentiality agreement in the 2005 case against Cosby, claiming Cosby had already engaged in "total abandonment of the confidentiality portions of the agreement" by way of the recent, sweeping denials of all allegations against him.[93][94] A judge ruled that releasing the sealed documents was justified by Cosby's role as a "public moralist" in contrast to his possible criminal private behavior.[95]
Oh okay. "Hey, we'll enter into an agreement, but you're never allowed to deny being a rapist.

I'm already 100% confident that he is a rapist. I'm saying that every major person of consequence has something like this that can be used to ruin them.

Again, the random Burress rant sparked the whole revival of his legal problems, a rant that began with Burress talking about Cosby saying blacks should pull up their pants and act like men. Does that not seem weird to you?

You may not remember, but the 2004-05 troubles also came on the heels of Cosby making similar comments.

Guess he didn't heed the warning. I wouldn't have either. Media and pop culture are grinding black communities into the dust.

When you're famous, people will try to gain something from you even if that means ruining you. But the vast majority of the fake accusers are seen for what they are and nothing comes of their accusations. But when you have accusations in large numbers, that's when it usually doesn't end well (ex. Harvey Weinstein, Kevin Spacey, Matt Lauer, etc.).

I'm not sure what you're trying to say. Cosby was beloved for decades. It seems people just looked past things for a long time. This wasn't the first time jokes were made publicly about his issues with women either. It's just that things can go viral now and get all the attention in the world.

Stuff "went viral" in 2005. Read again why the judge nullified the agreement.

So, in 2014, for no apparent reason, obscure comedian Hannibal Burress goes on a rant about Cosby having no right to tell black men to pull their pants up because he's a rapist. That rant makes every news site on the planet, for some reason. Cosby, through his agent, issues a blanket denial. A judge in CA then nullifies the confidentiality agreement because he denied Burress' accusations and is a "public moralist."

None of that seems unusual to you?

There’s self awareness and denial. Same thing happens among poor white trash.

Things go viral now in much bigger ways than in 2005 with how social media has exploded.

The judge overstepped his boundaries with his justification for the ruling. He probably thought Cosby had gotten away with a lot (doesn't justify his ruling, but it happens with judges sometimes). But it was Cosby's own words and the numerous women that were willing to testify against him that did him in.

Not really. We have FB and Twitter, but those are just delivery systems for info. We had plenty of them in 2005 as well. The very expression "going viral" was born in the early 2000's.

Nah dude. Guilt through volume is the democrat way. Ask Kav and Trump. Anyway, it was one case that did Cosby in, and it was because he admitted that he was doing drugs with her.

Without reading minds, that is a really thin reason to nullify the agreement. And again, it came on the heels of a spontaneous rant by a comedian most people had never heard of. It continued to be hyped up by the media until Cosby issued the denial. Then, got heem.

BTW, some people in this thread don't seem to know how representation works. Publicists don't independently issue statements on behalf of their clients. They consult and disseminate.

This is the same Eddie Murphy who refused to return to SNL for decades over a silly joke. The same Murphy who personally called David Spade in an attempt to intimidate him & whined to Lorne Michaels.

It's not surprising Murphy still holds a grudge over a private conservation between friend ,peeer mentor from 40 years ago.

Eddie Murphy was probably the most talented cast member that SNL ever had.

Top 3.

Dude, if you don't things go viral way more than they did in the early 2000s, I'm not sure what to tell you. Facebook started in 2004 and didn't get really popular until a few years later. Twitter wasn't even around then. Those formats keep the conversation going on events. Myspace was the big thing before that.

Numerous women (with at least some seeming to be credible) having the same story was Cosby's issue. And his own words. Also, numerous women were allowed to testify against Cosby to show a pattern. That didn't help him. Kav and Trump still have their jobs.

Correct, I am not. I said he overstepped there with his ruling. It sounded ridiculous. I was just guessing what his reasoning was, not justifying it. But the bottom line is that Cosby's actions and words landed him where he is now, not some media conspiracy.

But anyway, Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.

Cosby doesn’t have shite on Redd Foxx or Richard Pryor in that regard. People of all colors were yucking it up to Redd Foxx records long before anybody knew who Bill Cosby was.

Yeah.

Along with John Belushi and (arguably) Bill Murray.
