Those pictures bring back a lot of good childhood memories. Thanks for posting them.

I wasn’t around for Cortana’s glory days, but it was still a fun place in the 2000s. Cortana had the GOAT Piccadilly and I spent lots of time at the LensCrafters across from there getting new glasses. The fish ponds and fountains were fascinating to 10 year-old me. There was always fresh bread being baked, too.

Driving by there now, it amazing how fast Amazon is working.

I don’t remember a conveyor belt at that Piccadilly. I do remember it at the one behind Catholic High School.

The a-hole navy recruiter

I forgot about him. I remember in the early 90's there was one who would walk around the mall and give any group of kids that didn't have an adult with them hell. I'm guessing he wasn't a very successful recruiter since everyone avoided him like the plaque.

Cortana had one before the big, remodel in the early 90's. It originally had a southern plantation theme - gambling room area, dock area, and a paddle wheel area.

Orange Julius Recipe:
quote:

If you’ve got 5 minutes, you have enough time to whip up an Orange Julius. All you’ll need is a blender to blend together orange juice concentrate, a little milk, powdered sugar (I know, it sound weird, but it works), ice, and vanilla.

quote:

6 ounces frozen orange juice concentrate (you could also use fresh squeezed orange juice)
1 cup milk
1 cup water
1/4 cup powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups ice cubes

Wow. Looks like the whole mall section is gone. Just a couple of department stores left to demolish.

That's kind of insane considering they got started with demolition in April.

Cortana had a good legion of mall cops armed with walkie talkies looking to detain Broadmoor or Tara teens looking to shop lift Duck Head khakis or Girbeaud scratch n sniff jeans.

The mall management were visionaries for scrapping the theme years before SJW and cancelling took hold of society.
