But we will learn from this and be better prepared for the next pandemic!!
The only other thing that will come out of this is a bad case of economic and societal instability at the mere mention of any form of infection or viral season.
These actions being undertaken are unprecedented in a situation that has occurred before.

I'd ask you why the mortality rates aren't the same from one country to the next, but you really don't seem to like that question
For a variety of reasons. There are issues in every data set. Some countries have had different approaches to this problem as well. The only constant is that once the healthcare system gets overwhelmed the deaths increase. That’s been proven both obviously and through research.
We can discuss issues with each different data set if you want. Just let me know which ones.

How is Italy doing today?

In your extensive research, have you dug into Chinese air quality and impacts it has on the people there and their health prior to CV19?

Who has more heart disease, diabetes, and obesity Italy or US?
I am at a loss here. So people who are not in good health may possibly get sick and then a much smaller percentage may die.
I guess the answer is tank the economy and have millions of Americans not have money to get food is the solution.

Is that why you confused minimum and maximum?
Show me where I confused maximum and minimum...
I said 0.5% as an overall average is probably the floor in the US. That is based on the Diamond Princess cases and Germany.
Germany is at 0.2% right now if you just take the current cases and deaths, but remember that fatalities will lag the number of cases. Of the current 6k German cases, how many happened in the last week? (Answer is at least half of them). If you rewind a week and assume most fatalities occur after a week of exposure, then we are talking about closer to a 0.5%. So even the best case scenario is working out to likely in the 0.5% range - which would be 10 times worse than H1N1 and the common flu - at a minimum.

It takes 5-7 days for incubation and then another 2-7 days for symptoms to get bad. That’s why two weeks is the magic quarantine number. Italy only went full shut down about 10 days ago. They’re still getting people who were infected before the shutdown

Yes I have. It was probably in the first 100 pages of this thread comparing air quality measures in Wuhan to Los Angles and various other California cities.

Exactly. People aren't realizing or are ignoring that death numbers lag number of infected by about two weeks.
Look at the spike in Spain and the UK today.

OK and how does that relate to those of us not living in California?

Where are you looking at this spike?
So far today from this morning , the Johns Hopkins map has increased by 9,642 cases and 544 deaths worldwide.

Louisiana STACKED, coronavirus frickED

Today, Gov. John Bel Edwards took additional significant measures to reduce the spread of COVID-19 in Louisiana, further limiting the size of gatherings to fewer than 50 people, closing casinos, bars and movie theaters and limiting restaurants to delivery, take out and drive-through orders only. These changes are effective statewide at midnight. Operations may be able to resume on April 13, however, the situation will be reevaluated seven days prior. In Louisiana, there are 132 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and two people have died.
“More aggressive steps are necessary to fight the spread of COVID-19 across Louisiana. Following additional guidance from the CDC, gatherings of more than 50 people are no longer permitted, bars and casinos must close and restaurants will only be able to offer take out or delivery,” Gov. Edwards said. “These limitations were difficult to make, but they are necessary to slow the spread of COVID-19, protect the health of Louisianans and flatten the curve.”

March 14 numbers were obviously low for some reason and moved into yesterdays numbers. Don't read too much into one day.
You can see the day by day at:

If you hit the COUNTRIES button over the Italian flag you can see detailed figures and graphs for several other key countries, including the US.
