I'm not implying anything. I'm pointing out that tens of thousands of people die every year due to complications with the flu virus. I've never been called insensitive for not bolting myself in my house until now though.

And those flu numbers are despite many people getting the flu vaccine every year and medicine to give those infected. We have neither for this virus, thus the concern. This is just the beginning of the outbreak so we don’t have apples to oranges numbers to compare the two.

The plot of flu cases vs. time doesn’t look like the foothills of Mt. Everest at the moment either.

China and South Korea have found their peak it seems, but we can’t trust China and we aren’t acting like South Korea. Everywhere else is looking at the same slope we are, not sure if it’s a molehill or a mountain.

Ohio reports 8 new cases today. Up to 13 total. 4 near Cleveland, 4 near Cincinnati

I'm not really sure what you're missing here. The spark of this conversation was me not being empathetic enough to coronavirus victims. I simply asked the question why that same viewpoint isn't applied to the flu victims each season.

I'm sorry you have so much trouble following dialogue.

but we can’t trust China

China is no longer "China" when it comes to numbers, that's all being run by the WHO. Now, if you don't trust them, fair enough, but that's whose in charge at the moment

Govt is just seeing what they can get away with now

Ohio’s governor banning groups of 150 people or more is pretty damn sweet. That’s some serious shite there.

They are just slowly preparing us for the quarantine. First you send the kids home and people are kind of pissed wondering who is going to watch the kids.

Then you send the people home and they are somewhat relieved that they now have a solution to someone watching the kids.

Before you know it we are all home watching Netflix and overloading Chicken's servers.

If only 10% of all sick people tested have Covid what do the other 90% have that we weren't shutting down the country for?

Maybe RSV which will kill 14,000 Americans th is year, or flu which will kill 40,000 Americans this year

You know deaths and people that don’t matter
