hey dude. I know I give boomers a hard time but expert panel says for everyone over 60 to stay inside unless it's critical. they put it in bold ink too.
so please just be cautious.

Yes, everyone over 60 should be extra cautious as their rate of death after infection is in the teens.
However, to say that 60% of people will get this is so disingenuous.
There is 0 data or trending anywhere in the world to assume that would happen.

The worst it’s been has been China and that was 90k infected out of over 1b people and 3k deaths.
Italy is bad, but that’s due to population age and lack of infrastructure in those older, rural areas. But even there, I think they are reporting an infection rate of like .025%

I’m not watching some bs video... what’s the summary, why does he claim it’s worse than Ebola?

I think he is talking about how easy it is to get, not about how bad it is when you get it.
It’s hard to get Ebola but you dissolve into a puddle of blood, vomit, and shite if you do get it.
It’s easy to get corona, but for 95 plus percent of people, it’s just a cold.

And you believe that?

Didn’t watch but this is no where near the Ebola virus. More contagious yes. But Ebola eats your body away.

The worst case scenarios discussed by CDC are at a one percent case fatality rate.

That article also uses the words “may” and “assume”.

Close enough... I’m sure there are number fudged, but it can’t be that much worse.
Nothing in neighboring areas that lead to it being that way. Even my friends in GZ and SZ say it’s minor and they are back to normal life.

Anybody know why “lifelong smoker” hasn’t been analyzed as its own risk category yet? Seems like it would be kind’ve a major one.
Oh, and someone tell Iran that having their whole leadership team taking hits off the same Hookah probably isn’t a good idea. They should switch to whiskey.

Thanks for that explanation, makes more sense. That is very encouraging. It is important to keep in mind that increasing the temp by 40 degrees C is 104 Fahrenheit, though. So seems like an increase in temps could effectively slow the spread and lessen the impact on our healthcare but probably won't knock it out totally.
ETA
NVM I see you already converted celcius to Fahrenheit in that calculation.
Encouraging news indeed. So our 90+ temps and humidity could be the savior of many on the gulf coast

Just read that both cases of corona in Memphis are people who traveled to NOLA together for Mardi Gras.

Tell us Mr. Wizard, when does all this natural initial Kumbaya descent into anarchy? Has Vegas put a line on it yet? What the hell is the sports betting department doing now anyway?

Can they tell us the winning Powerball numbers next month?

Not true. 60-70 has been sitting at about 3.6%. It's the over 80 crowd that's in the teens.
