Update on my wife for you, her life now sucks Hwr hospital is talking about getting hotels for all their infectious disease docs if they want so they don’t have to go home and be around more people. Which I am not certain makes sense, but I gives if you go straight to your room as opposed to at home hanging around family members Crazy times

I was afraid of something like that. Sorry to hear y’all have to go through that. Hopefully this is all over soon so we can get back to normal.

Has her opinion of the virus changed at all?

One thing that will be interesting to watch is how this might affect governments. Right now the Iranian regime is being hit especially hard.

Honestly, no. But I will be honest I haven’t seen much of her recently

Just to be clear, her opinion, in my words not hers, was the death and medical strain Of this virus on the medical community would be less than the flu

Time will tell, time will tell if she or you suck at medicine

I don’t want a competition. I want nothing more than for her to be right. She’s the expert in this field so it’s encouraging to hear that.

All of these cancellations seem well coordinated. Like golf saying they will play then all of a sudden not. I’m just wondering if there isn’t a higher up dictating some of this.

Heat and humidity reduce spread

quote:

This paper investigates how air temperature and humidity influence the transmission of COVID-19. After estimating the serial interval of COVID-19 from 105 pairs of the virus carrier and the infected, we calculate the daily effective reproductive number, R, for each of all 100 Chinese cities with more than 40 cases. Using the average R from January 21 to 23, 2020 as a proxy of non-intervened transmission intensity, we find, under a linear regression framework for 100 Chinese cities, high temperature and high relative humidity reduce the transmission of COVID-19 with a significance level of 1% and 5%, respectively, even after controlling for population density and GDP per capita of cities. One degree Celsius increase in temperature and one percent increase in relative humidity lower R by 0.0266 and 0.0106, respectively. This result is consistent with the fact that the high temperature and high humidity significantly reduce the transmission of influenza. It indicates that the arrival of summer and rainy season in the northern hemisphere can effectively reduce the transmission of the COVID-19.

If true, this virus is about to get buttfricked in south Texas through the gulf coast. Warm weather for the next 10 days at least from south Texas to Florida

But what we are doing now is a just a piss poor attempt at anything

Now this I agree on because this isn’t going away anytime soon and I doubt we are prepared to stretch this out to 6 months or so

Agree with both, my general desire to not be around anyone finally pays divedends.
