but you're underselling the value of possibly eradicating this thing forever.
Exactly the point I was trying to make. By taking measures that put people at a SLIGHT inconvenience, we're trying to slow down the rate of infection enough to keep our hospitals from being overwhelmed and bide our time until we can either eradicate it through treatment of all the sick individuals or a vaccine.
Oh, and potentially saving a few lives in the process. Whether that's 100 or 1 million, we need the time to rid ourselves of this virus.

Also, for the guy in Hammond whose wife had a cough
Where my wife works, her system has setup testing locations at their urgent care locations for those that aren’t seriously ill, but just want to potentially be tested and evaluated
Is Louisiana not even doing that yet?

At ER in Hammond with my wife. She came home from work with a sore throat and her cough has gotten worse over the last two hours. Hopefully nothing but I told her let’s go just to make sure
Damn, I had that a few weeks ago. Feel perfectly fine now without going to the doctor...Even went to Portland, Seattle & Santa Fe all within the last 3 weeks.
People are nuts

Well I do think that these things will help flatten the curve a bit, which will help our healthcare system. Which I think is the main point in all of this.
But it isn’t going to be eradicated in a month.

Yes, Oschner has setup three locations specifically for this.

Actual doctors can chime in, but is this wise? I mean what should people in his shoes do? frick this is why drive through or simple testing is needed. There is no reason someone one who isn’t that ill should have to go to an ER just to get tested
Absolutely not. Unless she has shortness of breath or a continued high fever there is no point going in. There really isn’t anything they can do for you at that point. You won’t get tested and you will go home having exposed yourself and whoever brought you.

That's funny, they say they're not gonna test him cause he's not showing symptoms.

First, good luck to you and your wife, I really hope y’all are ok. Second, it’s irresponsible if you are showing signs and symptoms to go to an ER and spread this, you should call your physician or your local urgent care and explain what the issue is and allow them to screen you, then give you directions on what to do.

They just cancelled The Players
Would anyone like to explain how cancelling an open air golf event with no fans makes any sense?
