At ER in Hammond with my wife. She came home from work with a sore throat and her cough has gotten worse over the last two hours. Hopefully nothing but I told her let’s go just to make sure

You can’t comprehend what I said. The Spanish flu killed between 17 and 50. No other virus as come close. None. The Spanish flu was special. It was in the middle of world war 1. Most countries including the US tried to keep it under wraps. So it spread way more than it should have. Way more. They also didn’t even know the flu was a virus at the time.

Yes. We are all willing to accept the 1 in 1000 death rate of the seasonal flu.
I wish more people would get vaccinated so it would lower. I’m all in favor of shaming the retards that don’t understand herd immunity.

Didn’t they bulldoze streets and stop all travel between infected provinces and surrounding areas?
They did but if it got out to Italy before that you would think it would get out to the next providence before they blocked the road, right?

I mean what should people in his shoes do? frick this is why drive through or simple testing is needed. There is no reason someone one who isn’t that ill should have to go to an ER just to get tested
That helps nobody

It’s not a silly point
I am proving y’all are all too afraid to simply say you are willing to accept the current death rate of the annual flu. You are willing to accept the current measures we are taking to keep the rate where it’s at
I have flown the flag of this being overhyped since day one, and this response has been over the top in a vacuum. However, it makes far more sense I'd tou consider its the only chance to potentially eradicate it.
I agree with you about those using the "what about grandpa dying" logic as a valid excuse, but you're underselling the value of possibly eradicating this thing forever.

Haven’t had the flu shot in 17 years

I don’t think we, as free Westerners, can truly understand the levels that China took to stop the spread of this

I don’t know anything about his wife.
If she’s in her 40s or older with diabetes and copd, probably a good idea

I wonder if its possible to get some images of China from the past few months. I wonder if they were burning bodies to cover up their death rate.

Dude I am actually ok with trying to truly eradicate it. I would be pissed, but not angry if that makes sense
Let’s all grab some lube and sit in our houses for About 20 days and end this shite
But what we are doing now is a just a piss poor attempt at anything

There is a level 4 bio lab in Rome. Makes you wonder.

Now this I agree on because this isn’t going away anytime soon and I doubt we are prepared to stretch this out to 6 months or so

I don't disagree.
Posted on 3/12/20 at 8:49 pm to Salmon
I mean seriously. I would disagree with it in a fundamental level wholeheartedly, but if we were told to get out asses inside for 21 days and they did some true quarentine street patrolling, I would at least not have my aspergers bell going off
