The biggest players in here won’t outfight say it, but any post from a doctor or expert that has a positive spin gets met with “maybe, we just don’t know” “you can’t really trust those numbers” etc etc

Any post with a negative spin just gets posted and the same type of due diligence isn’t mentioned

And the exact same can be said from the perspective but in reverse.

It’s hilarious how people try to reduce these things into “teams” and if anyone acts a certain way then anyone who shares even a tangentially similar opinion is somehow indicted.

Vandy healthcare provider tested positive.

That's not good. Hopefully it's not spread widely there.

They just cancelled/postponed the Savannah Patrick's day parade to fall in line with other cities.

So a bunch of testing kits were supposed to be delivered all around the US late last week/early this week. For those who are paying closer attention than I, have the testing numbers increased significantly yet? It seems to have increased but not sure if it is where we were expecting it to be at this point.

That's not going to do much good. By the time the tests come back, there's a completely new generation of cases.

On the bright side of all this, I'll be having two straight months of remote work instead of having to fly all around the country.

I think public schools across the country will be shutting down in the next two weeks.

I’m starting to get extremely paranoid about what the federal government is holding back from us about this virus

My friend works at a local high school, he said they had a meeting today and if there is one case in the area, they're shutting everything down for three weeks.

Was listening to cspan radio earlier today.

There are around 75k kits within the public sector and around 1-2 million via LabCorp and quest. On the ground level, in my area a certain amount were dwlegated to each clinic to use. It wasn't that many, so intent is to use sparingly. I'd imagine the ED and maybe some of the busier primary care offices were designated more kits. Again just for my area. No idea about on the national scale. I'm sure efforts are focused more on the west coast than the East coast in terms of prioritizing kit availability.

Where is this thread on accuracy of WHO's current cumulative numbers for China - 80,955 confirmed cases and 3,162 deaths for 1.4 billion people. List says cumulative but I haven't read through older ones.

Even just looking at Hubei's 67,773 confirmed and 3,046 deaths for 60 million people seems lower than I was expecting.

That there has been 24,189 more confirmed cases and 1,014 more confirmed deaths outside of China than in rest of China minus Hubei is concerning to me. Just not sure if it's doubting China's or WHO's numbers or if China had.more concern to stop from spreading inside country while saving face on its cause & keeping quite how long they were exporting to other countries it before it blew up. Beijing only has 438 confirmed cases according to WHO. I know a regime can put some draconian restrictions in place, but that still seems low being head of govt & it's response and waiting until after their New Year to implement travel restrictions.

Physician in New Rochelle and a few of his friends got it. Says they shook hands with each other

“Hey guys—so I’m recovering from COVID-19, day 11..I am part of the outbreak in New Rochelle. I had the whole flu-like symptoms business at onset (low grade fever, chills, weakness, cough, anorexia with 10lb loss (which is awesome btw)...all I have left is this lingering cough...the strange think is I have no cough when I am lying down—what’s up with that???

Anyone know how long the cough lasts? Is it a usual post viral cough that lasts weeks or months?

I have read on prior posts that people like me have chest CTs that look like shite (even without overt pneumonia)

Unfortunately there are friends of mine who tested positive and were celebrating that they felt pretty damn good but then developed pneumonia on days 8-10...several now intubated and im trying to get them remdesivir or actemra (of course I am quarantined so not there personally)

anyone think these drugs will work? “

Does anyone know if they are calling up the National Guard in a lot of places? My business(events) is getting an unusual amount of requests for refunds based on military movements.

You realize it’s been about six weeks since any news came out of China that wasn’t directly from their government?
