S: Why did you switch wards?
WK: Before the 10th they placed everyone in either severe case ward or ICU. ICU is completely isolated. It’s for people whose lives were at risk. But the numbers were growing and there weren't enough wards, so they had to separate severe cases and light cases. I was almost cured, but still counted as a severe case. At the time only Jinshuitan was taking patients with unknown pneumonia in Wuhan. I was transferred to another severe case ward on the 10th. I could walk in the room, pour water, and bathe myself. I could do all that.
S: Who shared a ward with you?
WK: For the second severe case ward there were 4 people, including me. There was an old guy, 62 years old, an old woman, 68 years old, and another guy, 42 years old. I spent 5 days there before being released. Those 3 barely ate anything and nobody took care of them. When the nurses were feeding them they couldn’t take anything in. The meals at the hospital were nutritious, but tasted bad at first. On the first day it was terrible. The second day it was good. Beef, lamb, chicken, duck, fish, pretty balanced. Yogurt and fruits, too. But they didn’t have the appetite.
This seems to be good news, all things considered. If every suspected pneumonia/coronavirus patient in Wuhan was being moved to this hospital, even back on January 10th, it would make the report of 100k infected two weeks later seem unlikely. 4 people being in his "severe" ward seems to imply the overall numbers at the hospital weren't staggering.

Pretty clear that only conspiracy theories and doomsday posts are wanted here, so I guess that makes me a dick. Being optimistic makes me a dick, imagine that.

Surprised they're continuing in this direction. Most health officials seem to think they're somewhere between useless and actually harmful.

It's already turned into a conspiracy

What makes you think any of this is a troll. It's like you haven't actually read anything I've posted since I came into the thread.
I've been level headed, factual, and rational. Would you prefer rampant speculation? Would that be more helpful?

Which you've provided none unless you count you and buckeye_vol disputing anything posted about numbers.

Thx man.. we're hearing rumors of a 14 day quarantine if we can even make it to Shanghai. Supposed to fly back friday but that's not looking likely at this point.

Have you tried reaching out to any family in the states and asking them to call their representative? I know you said you tried the embassy but they were closed for the new year. Might be worth having someone try to get you and the family back from this end.

Just took this pano from the 3rd floor balcony of my MiLs house. Kinda hard to see but through those trees to the left is where my wife went to elementary school.
Also right in the middle you can see ths spire of the new Yangtze River bridge. It's been 3 years since I've been here but there was no hint of a bridge back then, bow boom a brand new bridge. It took like what 10 years it seems to build the Port Hudson bridge.. china amazes me at how quick they can get shite done.

No, I mean obviously if anyone has any connections is reading this please let me know.. but I know there are thousands of ex pats here in Hubei so I'm not sure we are that special.
I did see someone post about the expat wechat group earlier ITT. I actually use to be apart of that group bc we almost moved to Wuhan a couple years ago. I need to get on my laptop, get back on reddit and get added back to that group. Probably the best place to get info.

Seems like a solid idea. I didn't realize you were an expat there, thought you may have just been traveling.
