China built those hospitals but they weren’t enough. Now, they are turning sports arenas into treatment centers.

TenCent numbers have about a 16% fatality rate

I bet it's not.
People across the world are getting it and recovering in a week, yet China only has 270 recoveries on 100k+ cases?
A 16% fatality rate in China and a .5% fatality rate internationally (1 death in the Philippines on 200+ international cases)?
If China has that many cases, the rest of the world is lying their arse off.

Exactly. It’s something you’d expect from a closed society that was trying to suddenly explain the extreme panic in their country.

The past 2 weeks I've been to multiple airports in Asia. All those pansies are wearing masks. I'm back in the States spreading my germs now.
Airports I've been to:
Singapore - 5 times
Phuket, Thailand - 2 times
Suvarnabhumi - Bangkok - 1 time
Don Mueang - Bangkok - 1 time
Narita - Tokyo - 1 time
Haneda - Tokyo - 3 times

If you wanted to prove how big of a man you are, you should’ve spent a couple of nights at Wuhan airport.

I had no reason to vacation in Wuhan.

There's no reasoning with some people in this thread. The fatality rate is probably slightly lower, spot on, or slightly higher than what we're currently seeing. Sure, some deaths have probably been missed because they weren't confirmed for novel coronavirus. BUT, there are also tens of thousands of mild cases that probably haven't been confirmed either which would drive fatality rate down.

So close to 3% that’s being reported in wuhan or 0.2% being reported everywhere else? Still way to many variables to know.

Not sure if anyone has posted this:

Effective as of 1/30/2020
They've also canceled the female league effective 2/3/2020. They really love their BBall over there. This seems pretty stout. Between this and the tencent story from Saturday....

The Chinese Basketball Association has postponed its season indefinitely due to the outbreak of the coronavirus in China.
Most of the foreign players and coaches of the league have left China, and it is unclear when and if the season will resume. Adding up to these safety measures, all team practices have been banned to prevent the possibility of spreading the virus.
The season may continue in March. However, there’s not yet any final decision.

BREAKING: Chinese doctor Li Wenliang, who was accused of spreading rumors after trying to warn colleagues about coronavirus, has died of the illness - Sina/GT

This one actually concerns me. He was 34 and in the medical field which means he should have been getting better treatment than the masses.
I think the mortality rate of this is vastly higher than being stated.

I don't know. They could have killed him for spreading "rumors". This is china we are talking about. Doubting someone who went against the local leaders got better treatment.

SCMP is now saying the hospital is refuting the report of him dying.

It’s pretty obvious what really happened

Am I the only one that thinks these dumbasses in China have no clue how to contain this virus and if the outside world doesn't step in, it could get very out of hand? Seems like the Chinese leadership is only good for lying and suppressing figures of how many are sick and dead.
