Coronavirus and Catholics in Southern Missouri

Today at 6:00 pm mass it was announced that until further notice there will be no more offering each other the sign of peace in the Diocese of Springfield-Cape Girardeau. I am okay with that because I never saw much of a need for it anyway. There will also be no cup offered during the Holy Eucharist. I am okay with that too because the body and blood of the Holy Eucharist are one and inseparable; a person cannot receive one without concomitantly receiving the other. That was confirmed by the Apparitions of Fatima.

This is pretty common right now. BR diocese recommended the same thing.

Well, as long as you’re okay with it.

Just flash each other the peace sign.

We shouldn't be doing hand shakes anyway. Way too protty. Let's get back to tradition.

Baptists >>> Catholics

We Baptists will continue with our little individual shot glasses of grape juice.

Went to a Funeral today with a Mass and flashed the peace sign to everyone around me.
They’ve all known me for decades, exactly zero fricks were given.
PS: I looked SMOOTH.

Kind of strange they don't make changes of any kind when they have rampant pedophilia problems running through the church, but let there be an overblown virus out there and they make changes quicker than the Pope can blink.

Are you saying you like little boys?
Posted on 3/7/20 at 9:02 pm to Missouri Waltz
They did the same thing in a lot of churches when SARS went around.

Can they put in some measures to slow the spread of pedophilia while they're at it?

Hot take bruh. Look into all the jewish rabbis fleeing to israel or the numerous (thousands of prot) denominations and their cover ups. No doubt the One True Church has messed up royally, but let's not turn a blind eye to the other evils that persist but somehow aren't talked about.

Hey, it's that guy who works pedophilia into conversations and wonders why people walk away from him!

Can they get rid of holding hands at the Our Father, lifting hands at the "and with your spirit", return to Latin, Eucharist at the altar rail on your knees like what you are receiving is the true body and blood of Jesus Christ instead of a simple community meal, and get rid of all other protestant hippy ideas from the 60s. Then actually stand for something again instead of watered down nothing.

I totally agree with that. However, holding hands during the Our Father has never been a part of Catholic liturgy. It is something that just crept in somehow. Our priest also addressed that. He said to stop doing it.
And while we are on the subject the Orans posture is also a no no.
