Watson beats Broome in a runoff. Mark this down. Wicker and Marcel hate her, as a result they will not get their vote out for her. Piazza is in the race to keep Watson out of a runoff. Wicker/Marcel are counting on one or both to make it in against Broome. Broome can’t get re-elected unless Carter or Piazza are in the runoff with her. This is a three horse race where turn out in both the primary and runoff will determine the winner. You have a big judicial race with Alexander/Foxworth that will help with primary turnout for Wicker/Marcel. The real question is whether Watson can make the runoff. On paper, he should. I predict a Marcel /Watson runoff. If so, Watson wins. Wicker beats Watson if she makes it in. Wicker beats Marcel if it’s the two of them. Wicker has more appeal to business than Marcel.

we can get ONE republican to run against them

Marcel = Broome 2.0

Piazza seems like a tool.
I’ve known him for a while. Since college when he somehow got the manager spot at mike’s without ever working in a bar. He’s a HUGE tool. You could tell them he only had the status, money, and jobs he had because of his dad. But he would be a lot better than SWB for BR.

You could do a lot worse than Jordan as Mayor.
Nah...he’s pretty much the worst

Carter, Watson and Wicker are all a bazillion times better than the current moron, and I think any of the three would be pretty effective.

Marcel would be worst case scenario for baton rouge. She’s even worse than broome

He didn’t know she was your girlfriend

Honestly I think carter is your best choice from the reps. But a lot of local conservatives are actually supporting wicker.
The same crowd helped Broome get elected.

I was considering Piazza but this move that confirmed that I’m voting for Watson.

Word on the street is that a big money democratic donor is behind Piazza getting into this race with the plan to keep Watson from making the runoff

Double is exactly correct. There is a crowd of Reps/Dems in BR that are middle of the road folks. They pushed Broome, buying into “she is another Kip” and will unify the city. They felt certain Body would lead to division in the city / parish. Same folks pushed HRC for similar reasons. What hey didn’t understand is that Broome is dumb and lost all sense of who elected her to office. She immediately ignored downtown investment and increased the divide. The St George fiasco never a occurs under Kip or Body. These folks understand the economic ramifications upon the city proper if St George and need someone to reconcile the matter. Wicker is their person , unless she can’t make the runoff. It will interesting to see what happens if she doesn’t.

Piazza is unlikeable and this latest stunt proves it.
The man invites you into his yard to announce his candidacy to save the city and this is the thanks he gets?

Carter qualifying to run for mayor with 45 minutes left to go before qualifying closed on the last day is a real head scratcher to me.
He will siphon off all of the Republican votes in his former senatorial district which is the area around Southdowns and Highland Road south of LSU.
Plus, he's 78 years old.

I’m not quite sure what that even means.
Do me and ask Jordan why he’s such a bitch? I mean he was Jack’s bitch for years and it’s cute that he’s trying to make it on his own but he just doesn’t quite have what it takes. Sad.
