oh?

because a cop would randomly cuss out a sweet little woman with kids who just asked a simple question.

Whatever they want it to be.

Disturbing the peace
Indecent behavior
Verbal battery
Reckless operation of your mouth

I could go on.

I've played baseball with cops that absolutely would have that response to just about any question they were asked in uniform. They would come to games talking about roughing up DWI drivers and whatnot. They HATED traffic duty, and were at their meanest when doing those duties.

Also had gang unit guys and detectives and they were awesome, rational, good-natured folk.

to be fair, I've been talked to by cops like that for doing nothing wrong and just asking questions.

I'm no sweet little woman with kids though

Ahh, we're in agreement there. If they want to run you, you're getting run.

looks like she's changed her story at least once already:

quote:

Hahn has said she and her two children were returning home from Legoland and had stopped to use a public restroom. Her car alarm was going off, which alerted a police officer who was present.

whose car alarm again?? oh yeah..HERS.

LINK

hmmm...NOT hers.

sounds like she's working hard to craft the best story possible here.

those are 2 WILDLY different stories about what happened. guess because, brain damage from the beating and all.

They know what real crime is and have some perspective when it comes to normal, every day inconsequential shite. Its the reason cops in major cities with heavy violent crime, in my experience, are much cooler about simple shite like noise ordinances, traffic violations, etc.

They've got murders and rapes to deal with.

Regardless of her crime/no-crime, do you think the amount of force they used i.e. the punch to the face and knees to the back, were necessary to detain and arrest this unarmed, out of shape woman?

These are in-shape men (plural).

no, but given my exempt status as a middle aged white male who gets a wink and a nod from every cop i've ever encountered, i can't say why they would choose to beat the shite out of a nice white woman with kids in the car whose only crime was not wearing a seatbelt.

I'm sure she pissed them off royally, something you and I know not to do. Still shouldn't have used this much force, even if she deserved to be arrested.

Dude, I am in favor of the cops here. Clearly the women needed a few fists to her face for moving her lips. Like I said earlier hopefully her crying children got the message not to second guess the cops.

I was suggesting Scotland because another poster said they didn't want to live in a country where this takes place.

Like you and some other guys here I see no problem with dindunothins getting beat down for disrespecting the good law abiding police we have.

Also, do you think she deserved to have her life ruined with a felony assault charge the cops cooked up for antagonizing them into a frenzy?

I don't care how big of a count she may have been, she didn't need to get punched in the face or have charges that could have her kids taken away because of this.

Why can't cops use discretion and self-control? Why can't they sometimes take the high road despite dealing with counts and assholes?

As you've admitted your preferential treatment from cops, don't you think that gives you quite a biased (and uninformed) position? If you get off with a wink and a nod, I can't fault you for wondering how something like this could happen.

ETA: Last time I got pulled over, first thing the cop said when he walked up to me was "what the frick are you smiling at"

I responded with, "I was laughing because I rolled right through that stop sign and you were sitting there". He got cool and just gave me a ticket, but his aggression was at about an 8 when he came up.

sarcasm dude.

i dont antagonize cops and in fact the opposite. i assume they've had a shitty day and go out of my way to be pleasant.

i know..boot licker and all but i've never had a bad experience even when a cop comes at me pissed off which has happened a couple times.

shrugs: thats just me. i'd rather not tempt fate to (potentially) have my life ruined by fricking with a cop.

caterpillar..you're right. a FELONY assault charge.

she must really care alot about her children to pull shite like this.

sounds like a selfish bitch.
