Wasn't the BART case also about a cop using his service piece on accident thinking it was his taser?

Yes, and he was convicted of involuntary manslaughter.

And that sucks, because I'm good friends with several cops that take their jobs very seriously. There are tons of good cops.

Police unions need to start distancing themselves from the idiots in their ranks.

I agree with all of that. I know some personally I who are great people. I've met some that were pretty stand up. Cops need to distance themselves from these thugs.

So much for the improvement of putting cameras on each cop. They still shoot.

I agree. It distracts from legitimate problems with the police state. Boiling everything down to racism isn't helping anyone.

I'll never understand the people that will champion gun rights as an imperative against the constant threat of government fascism.

But those SAME PEOPLE will fight, tooth and nail, to defend a GOVERNMENT AGENT EXPEDITIOUSLY KILLING A US CITIZEN. This is fascism. This is why we have the 2nd amendment. THIS is what it looks like when the government ignores the constitution.

And the SECOND a "good cop" lets a "bad cop" get away with anything that a normal citizen couldn't, they're no longer a "good cop."

Being disobedient doesn't mean it's ok to be shot.

Isn't this what happened with that Oakland transit shooting?

In that one I think it was pretty apparent it was an actual accident.

Have people always been this disobedient to cops or is this more of a recent trend?

With all due respect to the mother plucker of the board that's a ridiculous first response. firstly because it relies on the cops account and their default explanation is always the person was struggling and went for my gun... even when video eventually emerges showing him shooting a fleeing suspect in the back.

It seems like a good idea to avoid cops at all costs and flee their general presence given their cavalier attitude towards killing the people they are supposed to protect.
