And before that it was where Disney World was supposed to go. Never underestimate the ability of Louisiana politicians to screw something up. Hell, we couldn't even get the Baton Rouge Buccees deal done, and that's just a gas station.

Good news is that I don't think there is an appetite in New Orleans to put any actual funds that way.

They will be looking for state or federal funds, and they don't have enough political sway for that.

The land has value to private investors and developers. But public funding should not be involved unless a major, established employer (like Tesla) wants in and needs a new freeway exit or something.

Be better off making it into a massive softball baseball facility to do for profit tournaments and maybe other sports fields

Oliver Thomas went to federal prison for two years for taking $15,000 in bribes as a city councilman. Think about that in relation to Joe Biden and the Ukraine and China money.

Travis Scott is already planning his concert there so people can rush the stage and crush themselves to death

The bribe came from Pampy Barre, and it happened very early in Thomas's career. Afterwards, Thomas spent years, maybe decades, cultivating the image of a clean, good government type. Of course, the minute he actually tried to do something to reform city government (which would have required Barre and his cronies to really be scrutinized), WTF do you think Barre did? Thomas was basically the Manchurian Candidate of New Orleans. He's a total stooge.

Sell it to Norfolk Southern or CSX so they can do some intermodal transfer business there.

Fund the Port, rail access, and bring in an anchor shipping partner with the old Msy terminal.

Sorry but where is the diverse and inclusive portion which focuses on non-binary transgendered biracial indigenous persons of color?

I would be shocked if the State government allocated money to that project.

Yet another foolish plan to sink more money in a NOLA East swamp.
We really must resist such obvious waste and corruption schemes.

I'd prefer a dome and we use new orleans criminals for a hunger games type tournament
