Construction in EBR - Is there a website where I can find out what's going on?

Noticed an area near my house that was tagged as a "wetlands" area years ago. Today someone is out there clear-cutting the place.

I have no idea. It's the wooded area behind the Domino's on Old Hammond between Flannery & Millerville.

13800 - 14098 Old Hammond HWY is what it shows up as on Google Maps

Maybe they are going to expand the Pines or whatever trailer park - might be putting Fema trailers there.

I know with wetlands you can have them "mitigated". Essentially you pay money to destroy the wetlands.

Right. And the permitting process takes at least a year, possibly much longer, depending on the area. This happens all the time. Just because it's designated as wetlands does not mean that it cannot be built on.

Yep. From the Permits link there doesn't appear to be anything filed for that range of addresses other than work in the Azalea Park area across the road for flood damage.
Maybe the owner is just logging it?

No idea. There are no permits filed that I could see but they are clear-cutting out there.

But that rarely happens. The developers usually just end-up paying the mitigation costs.

Thanks for the site! I dug around but the only things I could see in that area where for Ashley Mannor and Azalea Parks.
