If you’re serious, I’m happy to chat. I’m an agency owner. I’ll share all the financials with you.

Don’t let these assclowns dissuade you.

If you think that’s great, insurance sales will shock you. In a good way.

You haven't had much contact with Joe on the street, have you?

When you say you want to help people, you'd expect them to be decent, not to cheat you, and to show gratitude for what you'd do for them? That ship sailed with the "you owe me" attitudes that replaced the golden rule.

Think about adult literacy, Dolly Parton's imagination library, Remote area medical ministry. So many others exist to reward their leaders with high salaries and perks.

Look cynically. Don't leap. Enter carefully and cautiously.

Are you willing to rip people off pushing whole life on them instead of term life to make your nut?

If not, then you're not ready.

Wait you think insurance needs are far more important than utilizing investing to build wealth? You can’t possibly believe this given that one makes the other unnecessary.

Paying for protection that may never be necessary versus building protective wealth. And “why not both”?

1) you need protection while building wealth because that takes time
2) the majority of the population has 1000 or less in savings, they are one tragedy away from ruin, you can do both investment planning and insurance.
3) residual income

Annuities, whether fixed or variable, are often sold by life and security licensed agents. What’s your point?

They have a use in some rare circumstances, but they mostly make money for life insurance companies.

Good point, I mean more in terms of pushing stocks or funds and building a book or selling for a fund when they could be buying ETFs themselves. Funds try to hit a benchmark (and rarely do) when the ability to buy said bmk without management fees has been avaialble since I've been in this business. I probably would have done well selling, but this hit me early in my career (00s) and never left. Ive always seen insurance a little different because it can help protect wealth or the living for those for those that didn't make great choices throughout.

No reason I shouldn't do both if the opportunity presents itself, but the demographics that have little representation is growing rapidly (lower income and aging)...and easier to get in front of those people. Also, if I re-register with my nasd license, conflicts of interest come into play w my existing employer.

Fixed guaranteed annuities of 3 to 5 years were paying customers 5 % over the last year. That rate is locked in. It’s a no risk investment for someone at retirement who needs to roll over from a 401k or IRA and wants to play it safe.

That’s paying for tax deferred treatment that is free with a 401k or IRA. You’re just potentially adding a death benefit or income piece

My only point was pidgeon holing as a career choice sounded off
