How is the State handling this : simply by issuing a deposited check or written confirmation through HIRE, La. Workforce's website, etc?

I just applied last week due to beibg furloughed. Is there supposed to be confirmation of the federal funds or do they just show up in the direct deposit?

If you get $1 in state unemployment u get $600 in federal money.

Was direct deposit of that first check your first knowledge of acceptance.....some apps are being denied...and the amount of weekly benefits you are receiving? Speaking of State benefits. Fed benefits are just deposited direct.

If you log into your account, look for section that says claim benefits summary. It should tell you what you are eligible for and when the payment date is set for.

I’ve found something very fascinating on this site. Many here have gone from sticking their noses up at those on unemployment insurance to experts on how to navigate the system without prejudice overnight.
Let me be clear, if you have been laid off or furloughed due to the Coronavirus, you should absolutely apply for UI and there is zero shame in doing so - its there to help you. You will get back to work and life will return to normal, but if you need help in that gap there is not a person on this planet that should look down on you for that.
But some people need to look in the mirror and realize maybe some people they looked to be beneath them might just be as human as they are.

I am a pro at this since this experience. You will receive a monetary determination letter that tells you how much $ you qualify to receive from the state. As long as you receive at least $1, you will receive the CARES stimulus, which comes to about $540 after taxes in addition to whatever you receive from the state. It takes a few days for the system to process everything, but you need to keep filing weekly in order to get paid. Even if you don't get paid this week, when you do down the line, you will receive back pay from when you began filing at the same time. I also got $1200 this week as opposed to the regular $600 from the backpay to April 5.

Those who complain about welfare and handouts all the time shouldn't be given any benefits.

$540 after taxes: I thought unemployment benefits,State & Fed, were non taxable? Thanks for the straight talk & not some of the usual smartass .

We should all realize that (for a very large percentage of us), we are closer to the guy living in a tent under the interstate than we are to Jeff Bezos.
We should also choose our leaders accordingly - but I'd be happy with just the realization.
