20% of Americans are radical Left
20% of Americans are radical Right.
The other 60% of us have better things to do than worry about politics. Things like work and raise kids, go to church, have fun with our friend and families. You know, things that don't require wifi.
This country seriously needs to touch some grass and talk to people face to face.
In a country of 342,000,000+ people...
the highest rated cable news networks get about 1,000,000 viewers...
X has about 1,000,000 daily users (though I believe that has fallen way off)
facebook has a large user base but frequency of usage is not that high per person (they don't spend that much time on it)...
the squeekiest wheels are getting all of the grease, as the saying goes.
Probably as a consequence, I believe 40-50% of eligiable voters are not even registered... and of registered voters, only 64% bothered to vote in the 2024 election.
Things are out of sync.

I don’t think most that “hated” him actually watched or listened to him at all. They might have seen a few quotes, but never spent more than 60 seconds listening to him.
He was a conservative boogeyman in the progressive sphere online and across social media.

Had never heard of him. Got ripped for not knowing who he was on TD. I don’t spend any time on Meta, IG, X or any other informational media except TD, and even then it is not on the poli board or soccer board. I am very familiar with those platforms but only for investing purposes.
I likely agree with some of his positions, but I have no desire to spend time on the conservative v. liberal online battles. Nothing wrong with so many on this board that do. It’s how they want to spend their time and that is great. I was consumed with those battles 15-21 years ago and was a worse person for it (judgmental and angry about people I had never met who had no impact on my life other then when I heard about them on talk radio or cable news).
I donate relatively large sums to PACs but otherwise do not engage. It’s the only way I can have any impact as a practical matter. Informational media wars have zero impact on changing opinions and minimal impact how anyone else votes. And they have a massive impact on me by what I would consider to be wasting time on something that makes me angry when I would not have otherwise known about it except for my own action of logging into those platforms.
Confession over.

Kirk, Ben Shapiro, and Nick Fuentes all ran together in my head. I couldn't tell them apart until yesterday.

Put me in that number. I usually remember people with 2 first names, too.
Independent, objective and critical thinking is what I aspire to be. That ain’t allowed in the commercial political machine so I pass.

Heard the name and knew he was conservative social media type. Never watched any of his stuff until the shooting. I’ve watched alot of uninterrupted debates since the shooting to at least attempt to understand this news cycle. My takes
Not nearly as radical or straight crazy as some on the left are portraying.
Typical MAGA talking points and religious views. No new ground or real original thoughts. I’ve heard it all before from different sources.
I appreciate how he is able to remain calm, not get flustered and never insulted those who disagree with him or name call. Never in the clips I’ve seen does he seem to have malice in his heart.
At first I thought the platform of open debates were refreshing, but then realized he seems to only do that with teenagers. Would be more interested if he debated people who knew what the frick they were talking about.

i was keenly aware of who he was, but i did not understand his reach until 9/10.
i do have social media, but no apps installed or anything. just desktop browser for instagram and x. i'd see his videos of debating college kids and stuff. i just figured he was a guy going to college campuses and debating liberal college students and was your typical boomercon type of conservative.
had no idea about his consistent messages of faith and how much the kids really loved him till after.
i said this elsewhere, but i was in a meeting when he was murdered and my niece (like a daughter to me) texted me that he was shot and then 5 minutes later my 18 yo at college texted me. neither of them tiktok but apparently he was really big in youtube shorts and instagram reels and they were both devastated.
my kids grew up in a conservative christian household and have turned out pretty much how i'd hope in that environment without pushing my politics on them,, but when you hear about Gen Z being pretty conservative, that has proven to not just being anecdotal.

I had heard his name but didn’t know who he was. Don’t watch news on TV and don’t have social media.

I had heard of him but never watched any of his content.
I’ve watched a decent bit since he died. I don’t understand why he was controversial.
I wish a leftist would put together his most “hateful” clips so I could judge. So far he seems to be a fairly straightforward dude.

I knew of Charlie, seen a few clips of him. I normally dont watch opinion journalists or influencers.
Charlie was pretty mild. Hard to understand someone targeting him.

I saw such a YouTube video about an hour ago. I can tell you for certain that a lot of what he said on the video was taken out of context.

I was familiar with from the Vance connection, but didn't realize the depth of his intelligence anf calmness.

I'd heard of him. Probably would've guessed he was a conservative influencer.
Would not of been able to tell you any of his viewpoints
Would not of been able to say if he was 20 or 60
Sure wouldn't of been able to pick him out of a lineup
But I don't enjoy any political commentary by any politicians or influencers. Almost as bad as sports radio or morning radio show.

This is also pure proof that Kari Lake was robbed twice in Arizona along with Trump winning AZ in 2020. They had the data and the results didn't match the data.

I keep hearing and reading he is a racist yet i have heard nothing racist from him, only statistics and facts. I’m confused.
