How long have you been together?
You are considering marrying this broad but she has yet to meet anyone in your family?
Over a year. And she has met my kids.

Ahh so you're one of "those" Alabama fans. Got it. Carry on.
I'm a University of Alabama alum. That's why I moved to this state.

I'm suddenly less interested in your parents reaction and more interested in your exwifes reaction.

How are you treated in public..Do you notice stares? Do you feel mistreatment from others (White or Black)?
There are some stares and whispering when we are out in public. But no one has said anything or caused a stink over it.

It’s more acceptable now but it’s either her or parents. You choose. BTW, do your parents have money?

If it doesn't work out with this one do you think you could ever go back?
Posted on 10/31/18 at 11:07 am to Ted2010
You're just wasting time, putting off your life.

Like I said my folks live in different states and they dont social media. We have not had the chance until now for all of us to get together.
Billshit? The hell do I have to gain from that? Dont be so cynical.

My stepdad is very racist and his daughter turns out to love the BBC and has 2 mixed kids. He won't have anything to do with them. She will show up for a while at Thanksgiving with them but never stays long because it's very uncomfortable. Last year my aunt accidentally let the N-word fly while talking about Obama in front of the oldest child(who is now 13). Things got kind of quiet for a while.
I know it's a long story, but something the OP should be ready for in the future.
Man that is horrible. Damn

If I was her, that would be a huge red flag to me about the relationship. You not telling your parents will make her feel like you are somehow ashamed of her on some level.
Once she finds out you haven't told your parents...you may not have to worry about your parents reaction...she may just leave you.
Good point by Nurse. That would really, really piss me off if my current girlfriend was lying to her parents about me.

lots of white people i know have similar anecdotes. then they also say black people are imagining things and there is very little racism in america. you can't have both. which is it?

‘Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’
I'm not really religious, but this came to mind. You should just tell them and be honest about it. If it's your parents decision to not respect your relationship then you should consider that their problem. You should not let their opinions affect your relationship if it means that much to you.
