But if a company was doing a nicotine test would it be safe to assume that it would be done during the drug screen?
Yes sir.
You probably stated and I missed it, but how many days after the cigar did pee for them?

I took the drug screen before I had the cigar (hence why I even had the cigar) but I have to have a medical exam in which I learned a urine analysis wil be done to check for proteins. I'm just wondering if they could check for the nicotine then.

They can get as invasive as they want since you sign a waiver when you fill out the application.
With laboratory testing becoming less expensive for the more esoteric testing the future of these types of testing becomes more and more complex. The future will be drug testing, nicotine, drug testing for medication you may not have admitted to, genetic testing, and certain cancer markers. This is all for the goal of getting "healthy" employees that will ultimately reduce their insurance costs. And yes, it is tied to Obamacare.

Go look at the Obama care website, pick a plan as a non tobacco user then pick same plan as a tobacco user and you will see why.

And, the home of free enterprise.
If you haven't paid for your employees' health insurance in a while, give it a whirl. You probably won't hire smokers either.
