My former company gave smokers 10 minutes in the morning and 10 minutes in the afternoon to smoke. A 100 minutes a week. Just unbelievable

100 minutes a week is 83 hours(assuming two weeks vacation). maybe in japan that is a 6 day work week, but thats two weeks here in the USA

actually smokers also take/use more sick days than non smokers and cost health insurance providers more money.

I wondered if any company would ever do this.

How many damn vacation days do they get? I thought the Japanese were insanely hard workers.
You’re confusing them with Vietnamese and Chinese factory workers
No. You're confusing work ethic with worker exploration. The Japanese are a first world country, but have an unhealthy work ethic due to cultural pressures.

Wasn't it in Japan were some lady literally worked herself to death recently? Worked non-stop for so many days on end that she died at her desk or something.

Smokers abuse the frick out of their smoke breaks.

I'd love for that to happen where I work. Seems like the smokers take a break every half hour or so.

Wait, what? This was because of state regulations, correct? But, no regulations for smokers. Kind of doesn't make sense. I'd much rather a restaurant worker eating their own food near my meal, rather than them smoking near my food.
