My wife works in commercial insurance and her boss, one of his main clients, and the defense attorney who handles the claims all just went to Vegas. The bill at the steak house one night was $5,000 and the lawyer picked it up.

Thats’s all I got. And the torts have been reformed so don’t blame me

It doesn’t feel like I’m ahead of the game. Every little thing makes the insurance go up. If
Someone hit me my insurance goes up. If state police pulls me over for a inspection my insurance goes up. It’s tough out on that super slab

Why buy insurance against commercials?

I'll see myself out.

Yes it is. I can tell you some stories.

I was in the industry for the last 4+ years up until early December. Trying to get back in as we speak.

Wish I could help you right now.

I can tell you some stories about the costs.

One client was paying $19k/month for their autos (big fleet and heavy losses).

Auto coverage in Louisiana is a VERY hard market and won’t be changing any time soon.

Who is the carrier and what are you hauling?

What agency? Mom and pop or national?

Must be a Progressive policy if it’s a 6 month premium

I can insure my car for 1/4 the cost in another state.

that's fricking obscene

My work uses Captcha insurance. The premiums are close to what we'd pay with regular insurance, but with no claims, we get part of the premium back.

But captchas are only good if you're prepared to settle most claims out of pocket, except for large claims.

Trucking is a hard market right now. You can thank the billboards. That price sounds in line with trucking that I’ve quoted recently

Not sure if these 2 carriers will write it, but Andrus should have QEO (maybe) and RISCOM (definitely).

Besides Progressive, those are probably the best 2 carriers in Louisiana right now.

Conversation I’ve had a ton with clients/prospective clients.

Price seems a little high for 1 truck unless he’s got some losses or it’s a heavy.

I had an HVAC client (9 service trucks) I put with progressive in August that was ~$28k for 6 months.
