She'll probably get close to it too thanks to some lunatic family court judge.. If this guy believes in himself at all, he should find out a lump sump that would get her off his back for good and consider it. Its pailful to stroke that check but I know two people who've done this and they ended up coming out ahead.

Not all of us. I promised myself I would always be able to take care of myself.
Men should want to take care of their kids. If he hasn't had an issue with the clothes and shoes and everything else before the split, then he shouldn't have an issue now.
If he's worried about where she spends the money, then he needs to take it up with the judge.
All that being said, 36 ain't too old to learn a new skill and she should be showing her kids how to be self-sufficient.
