Yes paregoric worked. Is it even available anymore or is it one of those things that was just too good?

Two weeks sounds like perfect timing for milk protein sensitivity to kick in (but please talk to your pediatrician first as I am no doctor). That's what our daughter has and the Doc had us switch to Similac Alimentum. This is similar to Nutramigen. Seems to have really worked well for our daughter.
Takes about 2 weeks to start seeing improvement.

Miracle Blanket saved my life. She hated swaddling the first few weeks but tried that about a month or so, and it was amazing the results

Miracle blanket also worked wonders for us.
I had the Dr. Browns bottles, swing, miracle blanket and about $60/month bill for gripe water.
Keep your head up and push through it. It seems like the end of the world but it will get better one day...Its just hard not knowing when that day is.

I had a colicky baby. That's why she's an only child now!
We used to run the vacuum cleaner. In fact had a CD of the vacuum cleaner made and would play it in her room.
She would quiet right down when we played it.

Colic calm from babys r us. Don't get it on anything cause it'll stain like charcoal, but it worked miracles for me.

Father of a 21 month old girl and 6 week old girl here.
The 6 week old is colicky and does not sleep through the night. I guess i got spoiled because the older one did fine.
The main thing is that it wont last. Also, I don't know how single parents deal with something like this. my wife and I are blessed enough to have her parents living right around the corner, and my parents are able to help out on occasion too.
Parenting is hard work man and for any other fathers out there trying to to make it with their wives and families, I salute you.

Does your wife breastfeed? If not, she sure should have.
Our 1st baby had colic for 9 FREAKING MONTHS.
Biggest help was stomach massage, seriously.

OP
Wrap that baby tight at night
Swaddle or a sleep suit
Go on iTunes and download:
Fast and Vigorous: the best sounds for the fussiest baby
My 3 month old sleeps 8-9 hours a night for the last 8 weeks

It was available in 2002 when my daughter screamed all night. Her doctor was going to give us some, but we did a barium swallow and determined it was acid reflux. Doctor was a younger woman who wasn't opposed to paragoric. A tired and frustrated parent and a miserable child is a bad combination. Our doctor understood this and if given responsibly the drug will make everyone's life better.

We are straight formula and both babies were c-sections.
We ain't down with the au natural. We are straight 21st century with all its technological advantages for better or worse.
