All of this whole thing is probably bullshite and Cody will probably re-sign with AEW in pretty short order (maybe after doing a few Indie hot shots) and continue stinking up the joint like he has from day 1 in AEW.

The real reason that I think this whole thing with WWE may be BS is because I don't think WWE wants Brandi Rhodes anywhere around their women's division. I think Cody and Brandi are a package deal (assuming there is a deal to be made) and Cody's not good enough or over enough to take that risk on Brandi.

ETA

Although Cody is the type of decent worker/bland character type superstar that WWE seems to be coveting on the main roster at the moment....so who knows.

At best it’s a 1 year deal with WWE. At the smallest it’s a 3-6 month deal.

.....the biggest company in the business isn't giving freaking Cody Rhodes a one yr deal. He isn't Lebron James or Michael Jordan. If he wants to get the WWE money it will be at least a 3 yr deal or probably closer to 5.

Relax there buddy. Rhodes biggest miss and it was big, was QT/Ogogo. He’s been in good to great programs since. Stinking up the joint is objectively false. He’s had stellar matches/programs with Sammy, Darby, Dustin, Wardlow, Brodie Lee,& MJF.

He’s 36 with a bad back and wants to retire at 40.
He also helped build the biggest competition to WWE in 20 years. He’s incredibly more valuable than when he left.

As far as mainstream recognition, he’s probably top 12 in active/semi active wrestlers.

It ruined his AEW career it appears.

Objectively speaking maybe....although I'd say he didn't even come close to carrying either of these programs.

That shouldn't be a problem for him no one will be pulling him back like they did Flair, Undertaker, Rock, Austin, Cena ,etc.

Regardless of that they won't sign him to a 1 year deal they just won't.

You think the kings of go somewhere else and get a fresh coat of paint and come back are going to let AEW do that???? Hell no.

Which is still miniscule.

You are correct there he is more valuable than when he left but when he left his value was probably on a level approaching that of Ricochet or Hideo Itami....he's not as valuable as Reigns or Lesnar....hell he's not as valuable as Rollins, Styles, or Orton at this point.

That's a helluva group.....Rhodes name doesn't deserve to be there. I mean sure Tony Khan was able to pull some strings and get him a TV show and a little gig on a game show, but come on let's see where that goes now.

It’s a work, or else they’ll have to change that billboard in the Atlanta Airport.

If you don’t think Codys matches with Sammy Darby and Wardlow(the cage match) and the (failed to mention) the Andrade match are subpar wrestling matches…than this is an impasse in discussing really anything in regards to him.

It looks real.

Can you blame him? Dude was a true pioneer and helped the company get going and to where it is today…. And they’re both booed and hated on in every arena …

I’m sure he’s fed up with it.

Jesus Christ, this is a mid take.

2 shows separate from Turner. A program with Green Arrow at the top of that shows popularity. Tabloid coverage of his baby.

If anything Reigns isn’t as famous to the mainstream as Rhodes. Because he keeps his personal life private which I respect. Other than riding his connection to The Rock.

The argument over who is better known, Reigns or Rhodes, is an interesting one.

I present Reigns' appearance in The Fast and The Furious franchise and his headlining a weekly show on FOX every Friday night for consideration.

You do raise good points about Cody, though.

He'll probably do a tour. A little bit of impact, NJPW, and some others. He won't end up in WWE. Mcmahon would bury him, that's a no brainer and it wouldn't even be against top talent. Vince would have Finn Balor and Ricochet and Chad Gable types burying him.

I have personally never seen it, did he have lines in that movie? Like an actual character or a background character?

The Fox show I guess. But it’s what and what.

It’s undeniable that Rhodes is among the most famous wrestlers in the mainstream.

I’d be shocked that he comes back for less than 2.5 mill a year.

One line of dialogue I distinctly recall Reigns saying in Hobbs & Shaw was, “WOOOOOOOO-AAAHHHHHH!!”.

You’re probably right.

Finn got the ol’ Dusty treatment. He’s a huge international star. But like AJ it’s basically the retirement tour. Get your money, train people, eat pins.

I just scanned a list of the current WWE roster; there’s a hell of a lot of “Who?,” these days.

I'll be honest, I haven't watched much lately. I like watching ones like the aforementioned Balor and Ricochet and they're getting buried while part timers are the headliners. I just don't enjoy it. Not to mention that there just aren't any good storylines and haven't been since the Bliss/fiend storyline. Everything else has been garbage and considering it's the buildup to Mania, it's not looking good.

Cody could put some of those guys over…but I’d like to see him wrestle AJ Styles, Ricochet again(they had good match in the UK) Finn Reigns Rollins Drew Brock…but young guys like Theory or Steiner.

I also see him showing up at Maina unless he’s going to Elimination Chamber right now.

AEW nut chuggers will say anything to try validating that company. The ratings on his miserable wife's show cratered more with every episode. He's one of FOUR hosts on a show that you don't even know about unless you regularly watch TBS/TNT. And do you really want to use tabloids as a measure of celebrity?

He's not even in the top tier of the company he co-created and suckered a billionaires kid into finding. He's gotten pushed down with every WWE alum signing. Hell the only one lower than him is Matt Hardy who debuted during the Daleys Place shows.

Reigns-Seth, Reigns-Brock/Heyman, Lynch-Belair, Flair-Ronda, Drew-Lashley, etc. Not exactly a bunch of them but neither has AEW. And they've had to give away "big 4" worthy matches on free TV just to pop a rating. The only thing they did was run a developmental show to Tuesday.

Put all of this into perspective for you, EDrone….you believe Cody Rhodes isn’t a star yet you keep up with his reality shows ratings.
Hell his leaving AEW makes him the first non-show thread wrestling news post here on the OT; primarily from WWE Uber fans talking about him.

He’s the lead story on the day the arguably the greatest wrestler of all time is being rumored to have Maina match for the first time 20 years. That’s right, Cody Rhodes pushed Steve Austin to the second page.

What’s funny, as you’re likely just another troll account, is that by SummerSlam you’ll be singing Cody’s praises because he’s back in The Fed.
Cody has bet on himself and has won thus far.

We shall see what’s next for one of the biggest stars in wrestling.

You are ate up with fake fights....I'm more interested in programs....90% of Cody's programs in AEW were shite.

I couldn't care less about high spots between the ropes....that doesn't mean shite and Brock Lesnar saying the same means something.

You telling me that Savage never carried Hogan...Hart never carried Stone Cold...Hogan never carried Warrior (as crazy as that sounds)....Styles never carried Omos....Cole never carried pretty much everyone he's wrestled so far in AEW.....It's not a solo act but you can always tell who is carrying the match.
