First time I got drunk -- we're talking 30+ years ago -- was at the Cochon de Lait Festival in Mansura. I fell in a ditch and busted my leg, then tried to put the moves on a cute freshman girl, then I vomited all over a friends house. Good times!
Make sure to stop by Kyrle's Club after. They used to have a very laissez faire attitude about admitting 15 and 16 year olds and selling them alcohol. They also would stay open as long as people were buying drinks, I think I left there well after 3 a.m. on several occasions. (A friend had a bartending gig there. He would get home when the sun was coming up on weekdays) However, they did not have such an attitude about admitting adult African-Americans.
