Keep rollin' coal, as loud as possible.
You can delete without rolling coal
Many do it to get rid of DEF and improvement towing performance
If it's rolling coal, then it's poorly tuned. A good tune will gain power and efficiency without wasting extra fuel to burn coal.

I'm sure most deletes are done to unlock power and/or improve MPG. And the DEF systems are a PITA and smell like just what they are, piss.
The newer engines aren't nearly as easily to delete as the previous gens, and you'd better know than any dealership won't touch them after a delete.
And there are a lot of a-holes who blow soot either on purpose or b/c they don't know dick.

I'd imagine the kind of diesel mechanic that can tune and delete a newer engine probably isn't worried about and doesn't want a dealership touching anywhere near the engine at that point.

Wonder how much they’ve made by selling these. Could be a fair trade off.

Son, I've got more money tied up in diesel equipment and trucks than your little $1200/month truck note arse could ever imagine. A 6.7 powerstroke (it's not a "6.7 Ford", sugar tits) and a 6.7 Cummins?
That's cute.
The point stands: it is not the fault of free citizens who desire the same performance and cost of operations as your beloved government and other developed nations.
What a shite, boomer take. Ya'll can't age out of the consumer markets fast enough.

Deleting these newer engines makes no sense, now.
Until you get stranded multiple times in the middle of f’n nowhere. Until you get f’n derated and don’t have enough power to go even 50 mph on a busy interstate. I had 2 years of failures on this ingenious Cummins/Freightliner DEF system. Oh and a lovely 6 month wait on parts. Deleting this worthless junk off my RV was one of the best moves ever.

a-hole deleters maybe.
I deleted one several years ago because it was going to save me a few grand in labor and make the truck more efficient. It never rolled coal once. You never would have known anything was done to unless you were paying the fuel bill or driving it.

Yeah when is this ruling going to start showing results?

quote:Irrelevant, because just like the federal government does, they apply that standard across the board for all diesel engines from the 6.7 powerstokes to AGCO tractor engines, to caterpillar construction equipment.
easy man. I’m sure he means the idiots pouring out as much soot as they can because they think somehow it’s “cool”
We have to deal with that bullshite, and when you extrapolate the problems we have with these engines out across the entirety of every jobsite and cotton field in this country, it does nothing but cripple enterprise even more.
If they want to imprison some flatbill wearing sleeved out Edgar from working on his pavement princess with the threat of imprisonment and fines, then I'm not okay with that either, but when that government cripples operations to the tune of millions of dollars of lost down time every day while other developed countries continue on unabated and they exempt their own equipment from those oppressive laws, it makes your statement and his ridiculous assumption so far off-base that it barely deserves a reply.
I don't care what their intentions were, I know what the results are: a disaster for American businesses who rely on diesel engines every day to keep this country in business.

My sister (no pics), who worked for DEQ, can confirm that EPA sucks.

"Powerstroke" is the marketing name for Scorpion diesel platform that Ford developed in-house.
The 6.7 is a Ford engine.
I don't believe you own any "heavy equipment " and you wouldn't know a pin from a bushing if you fell on it.

Uhh no. Getting the DPF filter off these engines, in free states you can, greatly extends the life of your engine and turbo. It keeps your EGTs down, INCREASES fuel mileage, saves your turbo seals, and ends the reconditioning process that winds up putting raw diesel fuel in your motor oil in some engines. It’s not just a “look at me” mod.
And that’s just the DPF. Haven’t gotten to the busting EGR coolers and the dumbass DEF system failures yet.

All of mine are under factory warranty.
They've had O issues.
Do you know anyone that's deleted the most recent Ford 6 7?
My understanding is that it's a lot more difficult than the older ones.
I can't see any reason to do it.
I've owned 3 Ford 6.7's and have had great economy and power with all of them, and fortunately, no DEF issues.
If you can't handle a normal difference of opinion, no need to reply.
