I don't understand what the big deal is. So people have to stay inside for a day or 2. Its not like a hurricane or anything.

The big deal is that with 50 MPH winds, and 25 degrees, 30 inches of snow will blow up against anything and drift 8 or 10 feet, easy.
they will not be able to plow all the streets. its going to be a long time before rural Long Island is normal.
We do not know the actual path of the storm.

And that shite happens often in the same state....oswego /syracuse get lake effect and storms all the time.first place ever daw snow lightening. In 2007 caught over 100 inches during a storm.(super bowl week)....walmart and other businesses stayed open and everyone was expected to he at work but we could be 2 hours late.

50 million people don't live in that part of the state. It's a big story because of the number of people impacted. Boston is going to get hammered. No one cares about Syracuse or Buffalo.
