My wife was/is flying out today with some friends to go to the concert Saturday night. Had to fricking scramble last night on whether to cancel their trip completely (airline was not refundable) or find another show. Two of the four women backed out so now my wife has to split all the expenses two ways instead of four. Got them booked for cirque tomorrow night instead but I fricking hate Adele right now.

I will never understand how she is popular. I just don’t get it.

I would venture to say almost all the Adele fans on here were born either in the 1990’s or 2000’s. Which would explain the reactions here.

You being 12 years old would make a lot of sense.

Who flies anywhere or pays anything to see that completely uninteresting person?

Great soulful voice and has a beautiful face and classic look to her. Whoever's in charge should have given notice a lot sooner though. People willing to pay that kind of money or anything close to it aren't hurting and should be fine!

Do we really need a thread for this? Its an inherit risk you take when booking a concert something could come up and the artist cant make it.

paying up to $30K a ticket

That’s insane.

I’m going to Vegas at the end of next month to catch Billy Joel (a much better show) at Allegiant. My plane ticket and concert ticket combined were less than $1k.

And that should tell you the state of music today. It sucks.

This tells me two things, either you have a very narrow view of what is good music or you have never sat down and listened to an Adele album. I admit Adele is a guilty pleasure of mine, sparked by my wife, but when we sit and chill listening to 2 channel one of Adele's albums might get spun in between Zepplin, The Who, Howling Wolf or Beethoven's 9th. She is a hell of a songwriter (better when her heart is broken but that is true for most) and has an incredible and powerful voice.

Speaking of vinyl her newest album "30" is taking up so much pressing time it has caused a shortage of vinyl production in the industry. Lots of albums aren't coming out on vinyl as a result. Her vinyl "30" alone is over half a million pressings.

If she doesn't have it, can't she just go out there and sing without backups and dancers? I mean, it's all lip synced anyway, so why not just go on with it.

I don't think you understand the level of production that goes into these huge Vegas shows. It's not like she's sitting on a bar stool and just casually singing her hits

Why would I waste my time doing that? Watching paint dry is more entertaining.

Her album hasn’t caused a vinyl shortage. It’s already having their issues. Not because of Adele.

30k for a ticket for freaking Adele? I’m calling bullshite.
That's probably just the highest listing they found on the secondary market. Might not even have sold.
