Most of my HS crew stayed at The Summit next door to Club La Vela in 1987. That was a wild week.

Same. Hard to believe what went on during Spring Break in the 90’s was real..and I lived it.

Not in that photograph, but I was there for spring break ‘98

Was there in '97 (senior year of high school). 7 guys with no adults and all seniors in high school for 4 days and three nights. Looking back, I cannot believe our parents let us go with no adult. Grabbed some guy that was 25 so he could rent the sleazy hotels we stayed in...he was that guy that never left the high school parties years after he graduated.

It was the best time of my life. Cruised the strip all night, coming of age type stuff, and the exchange student that went with us jumped on a cop car...the cops were actually cool and let him walk after 6 inebriated explanations that he didn't understand our culture and didn't know to do that.

Could make for a movie.

Many nights from 97-99 was spent at La Vela and Spinaker Beach club. Shitty fake ID worked like a charm.

I could post my Panama City/La Vela stories here but nobody would believe them. Mid to late 90's was the best time to be there.

The Summit

Stayed there for High School Spring Break in 1996, 1997, 1998. The memories. Is it still there or has it been torn down?

Any millennial raised by a boomer defuncts this idea. I'm 36 so I think that puts me at millennial. We rode bikes that I'd never let my kids ride to . And La Vela will still going strong in my day as well. You must be talking about whatever classification is after us.

yea most of the people who talk shite about millennials don't even know the group of people who are millennials

I was at La vela 02-04 summers and then chaperoned a sibling on senior trip in 2010 - think La Vela was closed but Spinnakers was still there

Stayed at Summit for Spring Break. Stayed at Moondrifter a few times for Memorial Day, July 4th Labor Day. Stayed at Bikini Beach once (was way too far down the strip from La Vela so only once) Stayed at Top of The Gulf a few times which is a few places over from Moondrifter. Wonder if it is still there? Had friends in High School who stayed at some of the shithole places like Lamplighter Inn etc. I think nearly all of those have been torn down. Wonder if 'Patches' strip club is still there? Probably not. I don't know how I still remember all this

Pretty sure that’s the place that kicked us out a day early even though we were paid up. Funny story, my first experience with PCB was the summer after 7th grade for a church trip (91 i think.) They preached to us during the day then turned us loose at night. I was hooked from then on and spent every sb there for the next 7 years.

Doesn't look like anyone visited the Wikipedia page but this sounds on brand.

In 2018, Hurricane Michael caused the club to close indefinitely. As of 2022, it remains closed with no announced re-open date. In mid-2021 rumors started to circulate on social media claiming that the club would not be reopening sometime in the future and that it was planned to be demolished. There has been no confirmation from the owners regarding these claims. [1] Meanwhile, the owners have been out of the country and recently surfaced in the media after escaping from a Russian military advance in Ukraine
