Well, I can you this. Most here still call the park "The Jake" and you will see chief wahoo caps and jerseys being worn by fans in full force now, even more so than usual, which is a lot. The chief wahoo cap is a classic. Especially when the Chief was a pitcher in his windup as compared to more recent smiley head shot.

Right because you really think about our complicated history of colonization when your watching a baseball game. I’m sure they loved their history being kept alive by a bunch of midwesterners in headdresses cheering a middle of the road baseball team.
I’m convinced people who cry about history when teams are renamed and statues are taken down have never read a book in their life.
As to the name:
Logo is lame but generally this is the kind of name I like. It has actual local ties, you can see their stadium from the bridge it references.
I don’t hate the C logo they’ll use on the hats. Most mascots are either pedestrian or lame when you first pick them. Imagine just naming a baseball team the cardinals today.

The Chief Wahoo logo was a racist cariciature but there's absolutely nothing wrong with the name Indians. I guess some looney would say that's offensive as it's supposed to be Native American or Natives now.

Surprised it took this long! They've obviously been ashamed of being called indians.
I extrapolate from this scenario that being called an Indian is a slur, an embarrassing thing. People certainly don't want to associate themselves with "indian".
