My favorite Bill Mahr event was when he quoted Michelle Obama criticizing ghetto culture and said Romney said it. His black guest said it was racist, but when he revealed it was her that said it, the excuses flowed as to how it wasn't racist.

I love Bill Maher, but that was a bad and cowardly move. The fact is that whites really don't have standing to criticize ghetto culture, primarily because when they say "ghetto culture", they always lump everyone black into the "ghetto culture" group (except for a few right wing black political hacks like Thomas Sowell).

I am curious to know exactly what this course will be teaching. If it is teaching some bullshite about respecting other people's culture or way of life and educating them on it then I don't really have a problem. It's a course not worth any credits.

But if it pushes some political agenda trying to turn everyone into those dirty hippies who go around the country protesting with BLM or any type of group like that then that would be total bullshite. With that said, Clemson is a public university. If this was a class pushing a political agenda and requiring students to take it... Is that even legal?

don't disagree with that, I'm all for critical analysis.

This board refuses to, cannot, or will not critically analysis he pitfalls of middle-upper class mainstream culture. In fact, the premise amongst this board is that that culture is perfect.

That's jsut willfully and dangerously ignorant and arrogant. And just flat out false to be frank.

Exactly. Middle-upper class mainstream culture has numerous flaws. They were the group that battled against marriage equality. They routinely reject every statement that even remotely suggests that racism and discrimination exist. These are just two examples.

Thanks for providing my point. You just did exactly what I said was the issue. The left lumps all blacks into ghetto culture by saying the right isn't allowed to criticize blacks.

By defending black trash culture from criticism, no matter your reason, you give credence to those ideas.

IMO, it is literally your mindset that furthers the belief that ghetto culture is black culture.

You will not allow the two to separate.

Really? Wow.

I'm exactly the opposite. Have I ever suggested that ghetto culture should be immune from criticism? The answer is "no."

Your side equates "being poor" with ghetto and that is the real problem.

Delusional? No. Delusional are people who look up and say "oh, look at those lovely 'contrails' no one is dumping shite all over me" or "lets increase the EMF blasts all over our house" and "no one weaponizes cell phones." Now, this is the delusional people.

I don't want to get on a tangent, though I'm very right about this.

There is no war on white males.

Ok, this definitely confirms this as a troll.

But you said the right isn't allowed to criticize ghetto culture despite the fact that they said they are only criticizing ghetto culture and not blacks in general.

You literally just posted this:

quote:

What? I equate trash with being trash, be they white, black, Asian, etc.

You are preventing the separation of the cultures in the minds of whites.

You are part of the problem.

You are equating a criticism of trashiness with racism when they aren't related.

So you're saying an upper-middle class black family is not part of this group? Or are they part of this group and they also reject every statement that racism and discrimination exists? If that's the case, as a black family, don't you think they have standing to do so?

the best (or worst, i guess) example of this is "nuclear family privilege". we know 100% that a nuclear family leads to more optimal results and can explain these advantages from simple time sharing to more complex concepts. instead of promoting this as the ideal, SJWs attack this as a "privilege" and expect society to except the sub-optimal non-nuclear arrangement as normal. the ONLY reason for this paradigm is to excuse the outcomes of the people suffering from non-nuclear disadvantage (it's a fun trick to exchange "privilege" for "advantage" and use the negative form of the behavior)

Bingo. People conflate disadvantages and advantages. Instead of highlighting the problem they blame those who have it better as being "privileged." It's assinine.

You may do this, but most conservatives do not.

If we could segregate trash culture, it would be nice but it will never happen as long as conservative whites lump black trash in with blacks. Also, conservative whites tend to label everything as "trash" that doesn't fit their ideas of culture. For example, stylized wheel rims.

These are not culture. What I would consider cultural tenets would be expected behavior in a given situation.

For the purposes of this discussion, an earlier post pointed out that some cultures do not value being on time. Now, I'm sorry, but such a culture will never produce outcomes for its members that will equal or supersede the outcomes of a culture that teaches punctuality. Hard work and education will ALWAYS produce a better average outcome than sloth and ignorance.

The think is, we spend all this time talking about ' culture'. Why do we not spend time identifying behaviors that lead to better outcomes and encouraging young people to adopt these behaviors? We always say we should judge people as individuals, so why are we lumping them back into groups?

If I judge a person by his individual merit and behavior, how can I be called racist because I prefer promptness, reliability, competence, etc?

How the frick do you know??? You obviously have never even spoken to a soul on "my side," otherwise, you certainly wouldn't make these incredibly ignorant, not to mention positively fallacious statements which you obviously pull right out of your arse. ... Adding you to my list of literally too stupid to even argue with.
